first time staying here and probably would not stay again. upon checking in the worker at the desk was a little rude but i brushed it off. we then get to our room and find hair in the bathroom from the previous guests. the door only had a single lock which didn’t make us feel the safest considering the walls were so thin we could here the people in the room next to us. every-time someone in the hall opened there door we thought they were trying to get in to our room. the price was decent but again probably won’t be back:(

I booked a “Luxury King Room with Bay View” at the Golden Nugget in Atlantic City and unfortunately the experience did not match what was advertised.
The biggest issue was the shower. When I went to take a shower, the handle literally flew off in my hand. The shower became unusable and we were unable to shower during our stay. I brought the detached handle and photos to the front desk in the morning. The resort fee was waived, which I appreciated, but the interaction with the front desk staff member was extremely unpleasant. The response was essentially “what do you want me to do about it,” which is not the level of service you would expect when reporting a broken fixture in a premium room.
The room itself also did not match what was advertised. I specifically booked a “bay view” room, but the view was mostly of the helicopter pad. The description of the room felt very misleading.
Another major issue was noise. The walls are incredibly thin. We could clearly hear hallway activity early in the morning (4:30am), and the plumbing between rooms is extremely loud. When the neighboring room used their shower, the sound of the pipes was so loud it woke us up.
I expected a much better experience given the room category that was booked. While the waived resort fee was appreciated, the overall stay did not meet the standard advertised for a luxury bay view room.

Do not stay at the Golden Nugget. Avoid this hotel if possible. My stay was extremely horrible, and the hotel does not deserve any stars. Plus, they do not have microwaves. The only reason I am giving three stars is because of the outstanding housekeeping manager, Edgar, and his staff. They were the only bright spot in this entire experience, and they truly deserve a raise and recognition.
When we checked in at 4 PM, the first room looked okay at first glance, but the bathroom was disgusting. The tub was peeling and looked like it hadn’t been properly maintained in years. We went back to the front desk and were moved to another room, only to find another bathroom with large rust stains all over the tub. No guest should have to shower in a tub that looks dirty and neglected.
We went back again and were moved to the third room. This one looked beautiful, but the shower was completely broken. Maintenance came and told us it couldn’t be fixed because parts needed to be ordered, so we had to move again. At this point it was around 6 PM, and we still hadn’t been able to settle in.
The fourth room smelled bad, and the sofa was sticky. We tried to make the best of it, but once again, the tub was in terrible condition. This was now the fourth room with bathroom issues.
Finally, housekeeping and management came to assess everything. This is when Edgar and his team stepped in. They apologized sincerely for what we were going through and told us they had another room they could prepare for us. They asked for some time to clean it properly, and I appreciated that they weren’t rushing or cutting corners.
When they finished, Edgar personally showed us the room, and it was outstanding. It smelled clean, the bathroom sparkled, and everything worked. It was the cleanest room we had seen in this entire hotel. Edgar and his staff made us feel like we mattered, unlike the other staff who kept dismissing everything by saying, “Well, this is an old building.” Old buildings can be renovated and maintained, there is no excuse for the condition of the rooms we were given.
After five room changes and hours of going back and forth until almost 9 PM, we finally had a room we could stay in, and it was entirely thanks to Edgar and his incredible team. My gratitude goes to them and only them.

Stayed on 2/13/2026 for a show at a different venue. Golden Nugget offered the best value room pricing that night compared to other major casino/hotels around the area. Love the text update messages received regarding my stay. Love the free parking for every guests (not just hotel guests). Ease checking-in and checking-out (almost contactless, which I like, less waiting time). Room was great. Comfy bed. Only cons are TV a bit lagging and 2 water bottles in the room not complimentary ($4 each bottle...not touching that. I brought my own 6 pack water bottles).
I would book again at Golden Nugget.

While I don't normally write reviews, I had to write this to ensure no other Mother and Daughter experience what we did at the Golden Nugget.
We had a cheer competition at Harrah's this weekend, and looked for a hotel room for Friday night nearby that wasn't over $400+.
From the moment I pulled into the garage, I should have known this was not going to be a positive experience. The garage has little to no signage, most cars are parked in 2 spots each, and there were hardly any handicap spots.
Then we walked into the hotel... the smell is horrendous! It reeks of cigarette smoke and cheap air freshener trying to cover the cigarette smoke (and it's not working). After checking in, we went to our room. The hallway was dark, but you could see light coming from the occupied rooms. Meaning, the doors weren't closing completely which lead to more issues... the noise! I heard Frank Sinatra blasting in one room, and people yelling in another.
The room was also very dark and smelt of Chinese food. I used my perfume to try and cover up the stench but it didn't do much. There was only 1 lock on the door, which was also quite disturbing, as being a woman alone with a child, I'm used to 2 locks on a hotel door. There were multiple stains on the carpet, upholstery and furniture. The pillow cases were ripped and had holes. The bathroom was dirty and looked like the toilet hadn't been cleaned in days.
After finally falling asleep, I was awoken to loud noises coming up and down the hallway around 3am. People must have been going back to their rooms around then, but didn't have a care in the world that people were sleeping. And then at 3:30, I heard EVERYTHING our neighbors were doing. Thank God I was able to raise the TV enough to not let my daughter hear what was going on.
The next morning, our room smelt like bacon, which was interesting since we were on the 14th floor and had no food. We checked out, and it was a ghost town in the lobby. Then we walked to our car and it was so bizarre that all of those cars from the night before were gone, and just my car alone. I'm pretty sure people are parking in that lot and then going to other hotels since the parking is free.
If you are in the area with your child for a sports/dance/cheer competition, DO NOT STAY HERE!!
