Okay.So if you look at my reviews, I am a level nine master reviewer, and I never I repeat, never give one star.Reviews, but I feel this needed to be done.
First of all, we were told we could not show up after dark. They do not allow after hours check-in. Well, we had a full day in Asheville, going to the Biltmore, and upon returning it was dark. There are no signs at all showing you. There is a 1000 trails at the end of this dead end road. You come in the middle of the mountains on a very small TWO lane road, and again there is no signs letting you know. There is a 1000 trails campsite, right off of these mountain roads. You will miss it every time and sometimes the GPS does not work..
They have the thousand trails flags right up by the office. And I would highly suggest putting those thousand trails flags out by the road kind of funny. They say they don't take after our check. In and there's no way to let you know where it's at kind of fishy for a big company.!!!!
Now let's talk about the property holy moly guacamole...ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE CONDITIONS... THERE IS THREE BATHROOM SHOWER FACILITIES ON THE PROPERTY AND TWO ARE CLOSED.I WAS TOLD FROM ANOTHER SIX YEAR.TENANT, THAT THE BATHROOM'S HAVE NOT BEEN UPDATED SINCE THE OPENING OF THE PLACE!!
YUK!!!
SO THAT MEANS OUT OF 700 DIFFERENT SITES. EVERYBODY GOES TO ONE SHOWER AND BATHROOM FACILITY. I DIDN'T TAKE A PICTURE OF IT, BUT JUST IMAGINE.
THEY HAD A FLOOD EARLIER THIS YEAR.I BELIEVE IN JUNE WHICH MAKES IT SEVEN MONTHS SINCE THE FLOOD AND THE ROADS ARE DESTROYED.THEY HAVE CONES DETOURING YOU AROUND THE BROKEN ROADS, BIG GIANT HOLES POTHOLES, HUGE PLACES TO BOTTOM OUT YOUR RIGS, TREES FELL DOWN ON BUILDINGS STILL SITTING THERE.THE PLACE LOOKS LIKE IT WAS IN AN EARTHQUAKE!!!!
ON A GOOD NOTETHE LADY WHO CHECKED ME IN WAS PRETTY NICE.POOR THING, SHE WAS JUST DOING HER JOB.
TINY LOTS EVERYBODY'S SAUSAGE PACKED IN NO GRASS TONS OF UNEVEN GRAVEL VERY ONE STAR TYPE OF PLACE. IF THIS IS YOUR TYPE OF VIBE BY ALL MEANS PULL IN, BUT I WILL NEVER RETURN HERE AGAIN. AND ANYONE READING THIS KEEP GOING, MAYBE 7 MILES DOWN THE ROAD. A LOT MORE OPTIONS.
🗣PLEASE 1000 TRAILS. GIVE THIS PLACE A SALE OR FIX IT FAST!!!!
THIS PLACE MAKES THOUSAND TRAILS LOOK BAAAD!!!!
ok back to five stars reviews 🤢🤢

This is an older campground so of course the sites aren’t as large as the newer campgrounds around. The roads do need some maintenance but I think a lot of of that the damage was due to Hurricane Helene that completely devastated and destroyed most of the area in WNC, so unfortunately that is out of the campgrounds doing. It will take time & more revenue to completely restore what was lost.
This was a mini trip for my husband and I and I will say this, we absolutely loved this campground. We truly enjoyed the hiking trails and the views we were able to see on each one. It was so amazing to have so many hiking opportunities within walking of your campsite. It’s was a quiet, peaceful & relaxing trip for us.
The office personnel were very friendly.
