As a pull-in who is unfamiliar, it’s a lovely option - as a yearly paid customer … complete disgrace.
Twin Lakes USE TO be, the place to be.
NOW, it is nothing but a bougie LIVE-IN TRAILER PARK, and no longer an enjoyable weekend getaway.
I am willing to bet 90% if not all of the employees that “work there,” LIVE THERE; and around 1/3 of the paying campground portion - which has decreased the value, fun, attention, and planning that use to be poured into that place for weekend entertainment and true family fun. When the site FB page constantly sends out reminders to people to “pick up their packages from the store as the designated location is overflowing,” … HERES YOUR SIGN!
The grounds are not maintained, the paths are horrible, the “weekend event calendar,” is a comical joke of 1/2 effort, and the music - let’s just not go there. As someone who paid $5400+ a year (times X number of camp spots), there is NO REASON why activities and entertainment/music can’t be any better than what it was.
* The store has made up hours, similar to: we open and close when we choose to, as we live here, and do not manage it as a business, but more so as an obligation.
* The store and game room closes SUPER EARLY.
* You have to plan to get ice cream BEFORE you even start cooking your afternoon meal on the grill, bc they will be closing the store early - so no sunset ice cream enjoyment. Kinda like, “eating desert before dinner.”
* The “employees” and full time live in trailers are not maintained and somehow their yards are THE WORST. Just learn and see for yourself. You’ll be able to tell them apart!
* The pools remain closed more than they are opened; there can be a dark cloud in the sky 75 miles away at 11AM - and they literally CLOSE DOWN for the REST OF THE DAY.
* Every maintenance personnel has an attitude from hell - when they are required to uphold an obligation to a paying customer; yes, I made you get off your trailer couch to come assess an issue - which is YOUR JOB.
Needless to say, this place is no longer worth the yearly price to be there, as a “weekend/vacation” getaway. It is ran like SECTION 8 housing.
The sad truth.

A wonderful campground situated on a peninsula between the Pamlico River and Chocowinity Bay. As the only RV resort in Beaufort County, it has established a reputation for providing a safe, southern-hospitality-focused experience with water access and, in some cases, features modern manufactured homes.
Key aspects of the Twin Lakes RV Resort include:
Location and Setting: The park is uniquely positioned on a peninsula, offering direct access to both the Pamlico River and Chocowinity Bay for boating and fishing.
Amenities and Activities:
The resort is designed for leisure, featuring two swimming pools, a clubhouse/lounge, a dog park, laundry facilities, and a game room.
Organized activities often include music, crafts, and a golf cart parade.
Accommodations: It caters to RV campers with spacious, big-rig-friendly sites. Property records for 1618 Memory Lane also indicate the presence of manufactured homes.
Community Atmosphere: The resort emphasizes a safe, family-oriented environment and is located near the historic waterfront district of Washington, NC.
The campground is a key destination for outdoor enthusiasts in the eastern North Carolina region.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
We’ve had a great experience at Twin Lakes Campground, which is also part of the Thousand Trails system. We highly recommend it to anyone RVing through the area or looking for a longer-term stay.
The location is excellent and extremely convenient. In one direction, you’re just minutes from Chocowinity—about a five-minute drive—with easy access to local services and essentials. In the other direction, you’re headed toward Washington, which is only about seven minutes away and offers everything you could need: grocery stores (including Walmart), restaurants, medical facilities, shopping, and more. No matter which way you go, services are quick and easy to reach.
They offer a wide range of stay options including overnight sites, monthly stays, seasonal and permanent sites for RVs and park models, as well as small housekeeping cabins with heat and A/C—great for both RVers and non-RV travelers.
The campground truly feels like a one-stop shop. There’s a well-stocked camp store with just about anything you might need, plus an ice cream counter inside the store. Bathrooms and combination shower houses are clean, and having laundry facilities on site is a big plus for longer stays.
The staff is friendly, helpful, and welcoming. Security is excellent—you’re buzzed in at the gate and use a swipe card, which adds peace of mind. They also offer trash disposal, propane fills, and RV pump-out services. If you just need a pump-out, you can call ahead, pull in, take care of it, and be on your way—at the time of this review, it was only $10.
Whether you’re stopping overnight or settling in for a longer stay, Twin Lakes Campground makes RV life easy and comfortable. We’ve been very happy here and highly recommend it.
Great campground will definitely be back again

Great campground. Love the nearby town of Washington. Level sites are a plus. Great staff (Thank you, Michelle!) and we were able to refill our onboard propane tank. That's an added bonus
