- ASAbigail StewartFeb 11, 20261.0I’m the first to say that I love REI. As an outdoor and travel enthusiast, I spend a lot of money here. This was, however, the worst customer service I’ve experienced and one of these stores. I was looking to return a base layer that ripped on me a few days after purchase. I mistakenly told the woman at the front (Claudia 2/11/26, 4:10pm mst) that I hadn’t been able to take it back in because I’m living out of my vehicle and was traveling through Canada. Her demeanor immediately changed and told me that I was unable to return the base layer, claiming it was dirty when I had just visited the laundromat to clean it. I’ve never experienced discrimination like this at ANY REI, especially considering their generously return policy.
