Kept riding with it and destroyed the threads :( Called REI up to see if they could help me, explaining the situation. They told me that the pedal wasn’t touched during the tune up. Hard to believe that a bike I’ve ridden hundreds of times only has a loose pedal after a tune up 🤨

I brought all of the gear that intend to carry on an end-to-end hike, and back on the Sheltowee Trace. About a 750 mile walk with a 40lb+ pack. Even though I had purchased none of the gear I brought at REI, they unpacked my load and repacked it properly. Then they showed me how to properly adjust the Big Agnes 63L Parkview pack that I bought elsewhere to fit me perfectly. I was ready to spend $400 or more to get a pack that worked. In short REI ROCKS!

Scott in the bike shop looked at the bikes right away and told me about the things that needed to be fixed for safe riding but didn't try to upsell me on a service we didnt need for lightly used leisure bikes. He was efficient and friendly.
