- JFJohn FordJul 8, 20205.0Walter Allred of Golftec has coached me into a vast improvement of my game, knocking 6 strokes off my average score. My only “problem” is I’m having to adjust to hitting every club ten yards farther! If you listen, learn and practice what he teaches you (and shows you on video) your game WILL get better. I’ve been playing golf for 25 years and had numerous lessons, some very good. But Walter and Golftec have been the most effective at improving my game.
- PPParag PatelFeb 14, 20205.0I recently moved to the DC area and was looking for a coach to help with a two way miss off the tee. It was hard to find a good instructor in the area, so I thought I would try the swing evaluation at Golftec and check out the "tech". I had the privilege to see Walter Allred for the evaluation and I signed on for a package as my personal coach. To be totally honest, he adjusted a body alignment and takeaway issue in the first session that changed my ball flight right away and added major distance back to game. If you are mid to high handicapper, there's no better way to get swing concepts drilled into you with the instant feedback of the golftec video monitoring system. I personally love the data comparing amateurs to pros. I played one round in between coaching sessions and I was on parts of the fairway that I could only reach by hitting the cart path. My 7i used to be 140ish carry, 150 on a nutted swing. Now I'm consistently hitting >155 in the air and rolling out 165-170. I am so much more confident off the tee and I easily added about 40 yds ...smashing one about 280. If you need help with your swing (basically everyone not on the PGA tour), then go to Golftec and call Walter. He explains everything in a way that is easy to understand and gets you moving in a direction that isn't counterproductive. He's the Martin Hall of the area. You wont' be disappointed.

Better late than never. If you caught the bug, this is an investment. I've taken lessons elsewhere before, but have not seen the results I've seen in the past few months working with Ryan. Feels good to work on my game during the off season. Now I won't feel like I'm starting over in the Spring.

For example, he's great at diagnosing, comprehending, and offering advice and drills that consistently leads to positive feedback and instant improvement. Next, he encourages me to play rounds without being hesitant of working on the new drills I've learned during play. I've seen that strategy work wonders for me as my scored are lowering and my confidence beginning to soar. Finally, I appreciate the coach's philosophy of requiring students to devise their learning experiences into their own words. For me, this form of self-expression keeps me more focused during my practices and playing experiences. Thank you immensely Coach Andrew and Golftec. He is very knowledgeable of the golf swing and when I take a lesson he always has a fix for my flaws. Ryan is more like a friend than a teacher so it makes learning from him very easy. I also feel like the outdoor short game and playing lessons help a lot. Great feedback!

The Swing Evaluation gives both Coach and student a clear visual and numerical baseline for both indicating where improvement is necessary and measuring the improvement. We highly recommend the Swing Evaluation for every student, from beginner to competitive player. It allows us to understand your current swing and goals and helps determine the right lesson plan for you.
Are your lessons expensive?
Prices vary by the lesson plan, features included, and region, but they are highly competitive with teaching professionals in each area. However, each GOLFTEC Student will start with a Swing Evaluation which is $150.
Do you teach beginners?
We love teaching golfers who are just picking up the sport! Our coaches understand the unique needs of beginners and know how to make their sessions comfortable and enjoyable.
Can I take lessons at any location?
Absolutely! Your Coach will be able to help you find another Center and Coach. You can also use any GOLFTEC location when you are traveling.
Can I take lessons outdoors?
On-course instruction on specific shots and course management are a great complement to in-bay swing lessons and are offered at most locations.
Will you change my swing?
Changes to your swing may be necessary given your specific golfing problems and goals. We begin with your current swing and work on adjustments to make it more effective and productive.
Does GOLFTEC sell clubs?
Yes. We will order clubs based on your TECFIT club fitting or your specifications if you choose not to have a fitting. With our large buying power and relationships with leading manufacturers, we can sell custom clubs for the same price that you would pay for off-the-rack clubs at many retailers.
