A solid go-to spot for anything related to the outdoors. The team is usually welcoming and helpful, and most of the time they’re either well-informed or quick to find someone who knows exactly what you need. On my most recent visit, I was looking for assistance in the kids’ clothing area and unfortunately the two staff members working there weren’t very familiar with the products. That said, overall the store still offers a good experience, a wide selection, and generally reliable customer service.

I visited REI yesterday and unfortunately had a disappointing checkout experience. The salesperson (Lexi) repeatedly pushed the rewards program even after I declined multiple times. I had to say no three separate times, and the persistence felt uncomfortable and pushy rather than helpful. I expect a more respectful, customer-focused approach. I hope future interactions feel less pressured.

What they have online vs what's at the store is completely different. The arcteryx, mountain hardwear, northface section is basically 1 rack or less each. The knives, and camping equipment is also lowly stocked. Its a giant store full of crap nobody wants(clearance). I still love REI though

I went in today to buy gloves and had an extremely uncomfortable checkout experience. The cashier was very pushy about getting me to sign up for a membership, which I repeatedly declined. They then asked for my phone number and made a condescending comment along the lines of, “Do you know anyone who goes outside and has a phone number? Maybe they have one with us?”
They also emphasized that I would be paying a higher price because I’m not a member. After checkout, they tried to force me to take a membership pamphlet, and when I declined again, they said, “We’re going to keep trying to talk about this.”
The entire interaction felt rude, pushy, and uncomfortable.
