    REI is by far my favorite place to shop for outdoor equipment. The Missouri location was nothing special compared to the stores out west. But still worth a trip! I am just grateful to have a CO-OP in my home state.

    This is probably more of a critique of management than the employees themselves, but no one should have to say "no" five times before being allowed to check out. Even if the membership program has great perks, it shouldn’t be pushed that aggressively.

    New resident and my first visit to REI KC was a great experience! Shopping for hiking shoes and Carly was a huge help! Moved over to back packs and Carly also helped me pick out the perfect pack for my needs. Joined the team with a membership which includes free shipping etc.. What a great store. Andy checked me out and helped with the membership! Return customer 100%

    Great customer service - I appreciate talking to employees about the gear and feeling that they really understand my questions and want to help find the best gear for my next adventure. The product selection is good - not overwhelming variety and items tend to be high quality. Of course, they do carry more budget friendly items and you often get what you pay for, but I feel they do a good job of curating, rather than just going for volume. I still have the first mess kit that an REI employee helped me pick out about 10 years before the OP location ever opened! It’s held up as promised!
