Bucks & Jakes Outfitters was founded in 2005 after the acquisition of Ashley’s Outdoor Connection. We founded Bucks & Jakes Outfitters with one simple goal in mind - serving the tri-state's outdoorsmen and women.
Locally, as fellow outdoor adventure seekers, we struggled to find the products or service up to the caliber and standards we felt was deserved in our community. Hunting and fishing are a way of life in the tri-state area and no one knows better than our founders and staff of the importance of quality products and service. We try to provide our customers great products at reasonable prices, with an emphasis on superior customer service. At Bucks & Jakes, we offer only the highest quality products from major brands and local vendors. We try to keep in mind the products we offer our customers are more important than the name on the package.
Since our inception in 2005, the store has grown nearly 5 times its original size after moving to our new location on highway 62 between Evansville and Boonville. This included adding a 10 lane, 100 ft by 40 ft indoor archery range and walk-in cold storage for our customers to store their query.
Being locally owned and operated gives Bucks & Jakes the great privilege and opportunity to give back to the community, supporting groups such as the National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP), Archery Camps USA, and Archery Across North America, just to name a few.
We currently have 15 employees on staff, including 2 full time archery technicians, 2 part time archery technicians, and 3 firearms specialists. - SSslammed1000Feb 27, 20261.0I really want to spend my money with the Westside location! I visited the location over the summer and had $3000 with me to spend on a new rifle. Danny Griffin wouldn't give the time of day to ask and help. My 88 year old father was with me and purchased a firearm that day. At the cash register things got heated because they tried to charge him differently then agreed. Danny arrived smoothed things over then I explained to him how he just lost out on a very large gun sale plus so much more. He gave me his business card and said if I can ever help let me know. I came in a few months later and same service, sitting behind the counter joking with co-workers but didn't give a crap about the paying customers. I ended up purchasing a Daniel Defense from a online retailer and had it shipped to a ffl. I tried again visiting the store to purchase a Trijicon acog and rmr. Again treated the same way and I left. I went ahead and purchased it on-line. I wanted a suppressor for that rifle and tried again. Went through all of the Silencer shop kiosk paperwork just to find out they couldn't process because Danny is the only one that can process the paperwork. I have been to the store 4 times in 4 weeks and he is never there. Cody has been very helpful everytime and very apologetic about his boss. If you want service from Buck and Jake's go to Boonville and see Casity. Unfortunately she has heard this same story multiple times. You have a goldmine on the Westside, just need a leader!
