  ⭐️ 1 Star – Would Not Recommend I would definitely not recommend Ameristar East Chicago. Our room was in very poor condition. There was visible mold growing in the bathroom, a chip on the floor, and a refrigerator that was actively dripping water. To make matters worse, the “lake view” I paid extra for turned out to be a view of the parking garage, which was extremely disappointing. The smell of smoke throughout the property was overwhelming and unpleasant, making the stay uncomfortable overall. The only positive was the valet staff — they were very kind, helpful, and professional. Unfortunately, that alone does not make up for the cleanliness issues, misleading room upgrade, and overall poor experience.

  Love the layout, it's a very nice place, with plenty of slots and multiple floors. The smell of some good food on the second level that I will try on my next visit with a room near by. The indoor smoking is a no, I probably would have to have had one to many shots and a room to shower and a change of cloths. Nice vibe

  The first room heat did not work and the sink was clogged. Moved to a new room and the toilet was leaking. I checked out.

  Casino has gone down hill.. To much smoke can't breathe.. go to the Horseshoe or Hard Rock to Gamble

  FULL OF SMOKE!!! The only place I didn't smell smoke was at check-in to the elevators and in my actual room. The hallways on two different floors smell like smoke. The lobby to check-in....smoke. The restaurants.......SMOKE!!! Had to get my food to go!!! Very bad experience, can't ever come back at this point. It was bad enough to get rid of the buffet during covid, now to find out the walkways to each restaurant are now filled with slot machines and cigarette smoke that gets into the restaurants. Can't walk around, can't eat, can't even walk from the elevator to my room without having to smell smoke. Do not recommend, will not return!!!! This is clearly a place for smokers. You'd expect that in the actual casino, not the entire building from end-to-end, ESPECIALLY not by food. And why not give non-smokers a whole floor to go to, since the smokers can't keep the smoking in their actual room. I used to come here, but after this, never again. It was never like this at all, at least not before covid. To spend all that money and couldn't even enjoy it!! To spend money on the food credit and can't even dine in the restaurant and enjoy ourselves. This was definitely a bomb, neither of us enjoyed our stay. We wished we would've just stayed in the room. And the rooms have no microwaves for whatever reason, so we couldn't heat up his food that was just prepared, yet not even hot. Worst trip ever. This was clearly a bad move.
