I told her I had it in my backpack but ended up not needing it but she continued to accuse me of lying. I felt disrespected during my interaction at this store and specifically with the lady named Yolande. I hope REI will address this so customers feel heard and valued in the future.

We shop here for athletic shoes and outdoor gear, and my husband recently bought a bike the service was amazing from start to finish. We’re also REI members, and the member deals make it even better. The store is big, easy to shop, and has a great selection you can actually see and try on.

Despite being busy the staff were super friendly and very helpful with gear questions that we had. We now have a sweet new Kelty baby carrier that I’m really excited to do some hiking with. - RERyan William (Expert)Sep 8, 20252.0i asked an employee who was folding shirts (adjacent the shoes) if i she could get me a shoe from the back. she argued that she was on "the floor" and i should ask the one guy working in shoes. there were a few people already waiting for the one shoe guy and there were several employees on "the floor" not helping anyone. I don't think it was out of line for me to ask for help. i've never worked at a place where I was instructed to ignore customers in favor of folding clothes. maybe rei got bought out by private equity
