  REI's all have the same stuff. It's the employees that make this store stand out. Everyone is so nice and knowledgeable and they are all willing to share that knowledge with anyone that will listen. I'm pretty experienced myself but this group always has something useful to pass on!

  REI is always a great place to shop for outdoor clothing and other accessories. The staff is very helpful and friendly.

  Had a terrible time shopping at this REI. I walked in around 7:00 PM today (4/18) - I came in to purchase a few items for an upcoming bikepacking trip but was really interested in checking out their binoculars in person so I can see birds from the bike. The binoculars were in a locked display case. I saw several staff assisting other customers over by the tent/sleep systems area and some staff talking amongst themselves. I kept myself busy picking up a few other loose ends I needed (stakes, viole straps, headlamp) and by then stood in front of/around the binoculars for about 10 minutes before giving up and asking for help from two women in the shoes section. They were extremely helpful and one even recommended some binoculars to me! However they paged a different staff member to go meet me by the binoculars presumably because they weren't assigned to that department or needed to finish their tasks over by the shoes. Someone responded on the radio and I was assured I would be helped right away. I stood in front of the binoculars for an additional 10 minutes- I even watched a staff member swap out for another staff member who was helping customers only for that person to look right at me and then go back to the employees only section behind the bike wrenching desk. I then made the decision to start putting my things back on the shelf and leave. One of the two initial women from earlier noticed me and offered to help but at that point I was too frustrated to want to support such a poorly managed store. Hire more staff or work out a better delegation of duties. I should not have to waste 20+ minutes of my time to get behind a display case for 80$ binoculars. I always used to think very highly of REI and even recommended their bicycles to a few folks... I don't think I can do that anymore. If this level of quality can be expected from their bike services as well you're better off paying the 20% premium to go to a local bike shop that cares.
