Situated steps from Lake Michigan on land that once held the World’s Columbian Exposition of 1893; the golf course opened six years later in 1899. The only eighteen hole golf course in the CPD Golf portfolio, the course meanders through the overall footprint of the 500 acre Jackson Park site and includes mature trees and large greens that all offer a challenging golf experience. Par 5’s reaching 560 yards and par 3’s extending to 200 yards require golfers to utilize every club in the bag.
The course is generally well-maintained, with good greens and fairways, but many reviews highlight poor bunker conditions, often described as dirt or mud.
Staff Friendliness
Most customers appreciate the friendly and helpful staff, although there are some negative comments about specific employees.
Value for Money
Many customers find the course to be a good value, especially considering it is the only 18-hole course in the Chicago Park District.
Pace of Play
Several reviews mention issues with slow play, particularly on busy days, and a lack of management regarding tee-offs.
Facilities
While the clubhouse and bathrooms are generally clean, there are complaints about the lack of amenities like water coolers and the condition of the restrooms outside the clubhouse.

Golf (or whatever that is when I go out there) is fun on this city course. Woodsy and challenging for the horror I bring out there.

We were rushed by an employee that had a family member playing behind us. We had been waiting on the group ahead of us all day, but she didnt bother trying to speak with them as well. Didn't get to enjoy our last few holes as we were being watched and rushed by the employee the whole time. Really disappointed that we spent a decent amount of money as this was a birthday celebration.
