This place is amazing. Tim and the crew are very knowledgeable about the different carts. They helped me find the perfect cart that fit all of our needs. Highly Recommend!!!!
Frequently Asked Questions About Off Course Golf Carts
Why batteries with Lithium-Ion?
Lithium-ion batteries are better for golf carts because they are lighter, providing improved acceleration, speed, and range. They last much longer than lead-acid batteries and require no maintenance. There is no need for watering and cleaning. They offer faster charging times, and they provide consistent, powerful energy without voltage sag for a smoother ride.
How far can I drive my golf Lithium-Ion powered golf cart?
That depends on the weight of the people/cargo, wind and how hilly the terrain is, but you should be able to get 25 to 30 miles on a full charge. Cart companies say up to 40 miles on a 105 ah battery, but that would be under ideal conditions. For comparison, a typical 18-hole round of golf is roughly 5 to 7 miles (depending on how bad your slice is!)
How long should a golf cart battery last?
A normal lead acid battery should last 5 or 6 years. Unfortunately, golf carts are often left unprotected in the winter and/or not put on a trickle charger when not in use, so we see a lot of 2, 3 and 4 year old lead acid batteries that are nolonger any good. A lithium-ion battery has a warranty of 5 to 8 years typically, and up to 3500 cycles, which means they could be charged every day for nearly 10 years and still provide good service.
How fast can your golf carts go?
All of our new Evolution and Dach carts are programmed to go up to 25 miles per hour. They can also be set in low gear to go about 12 to 15 miles an hour for golf course or campground use.
Are your carts street legal?
That depends on your town or city. Our carts are "street ready" , which means they all have safety equipment like seat belts, headlights, taillights, turn signals and back-up cameras to be considered street legal. Each municipality has its own rules on what is street legal.
What is LSV?
An LSV, or Low Speed Vehicle, in the golf cart world means your golf cart has a VIN number, a Manufacturers Certificate of Origin (MCO) and a certain set of safety features. With those features, and if you buy your golf cart from a licensed automotive dealer, your golf cart can be considered an LSV, be titled and have a license plate like an automobile. There are not many towns and cities in Iowa that make a clear distinction between a golf cart and an LSV so it's unclear if there is any value in having that distinction. Being licensed and titled also brings with it a more expensive purchase price, annual license fees and higher insurance cost.
Why are Lithium-Ion batteries better for golf carts?
Lithium-ion batteries are lighter, last longer, require no maintenance, charge faster, and provide consistent power for smoother rides compared to lead-acid batteries.
How far can I drive a Lithium-Ion powered golf cart on a full charge?
You can typically drive 25 to 30 miles on a full charge depending on conditions, with some carts reaching up to 40 miles under ideal circumstances.
What is the expected lifespan of a golf cart battery?
Lead-acid batteries usually last 5 to 6 years, while Lithium-Ion batteries come with warranties of 5 to 8 years and up to 3500 charge cycles, potentially lasting nearly 10 years.
How fast can the golf carts from Off Course Golf Carts go?
The new Evolution and Dach carts can reach speeds up to 25 mph and can be set to lower speeds of 12 to 15 mph for courses or campgrounds.
Are the golf carts street legal?
The carts are equipped with safety features like seat belts and lights making them "street ready," but street legality depends on local municipality regulations.
What does LSV mean in relation to golf carts?
LSV (Low Speed Vehicle) carts have a VIN and safety features allowing them to be licensed and titled like automobiles, though this varies by city and may have higher fees.
