  It was okay. Nothing special. Couple things need improvement. Multiple advertisement to order breakfast online and pick up downstairs. We tried to order breakfast on the website and it said they aren't taking online orders. When asking the front desk, they didn't know anything, no help. Next, the worst part, the ventilation system needs fixed or updated. It was sooo smokey, chokingly smokey. I've been to many casinos and this is probably in my top 3 worst, when it comes to that. My friend kept getting headaches, making her experience not the greatest. You can smell it immediately walking into the hotel itself and that should not happen. When it comes to the room, it was okay, only issue was the sink held water and was super slow to drain. I gave 2 stars because the ventilation system, or lack of. I think it would benefit guests if there was a little convenience store in there too.

  Upon booking through the call center I was told a $50 charge would be put on my card and return at a later time after departure. When I arrived I was told the policy changed 2/1/26 and the fee was $100. I had a complimentary stay and had about $80 on my card. So basically would of been turned away because of that. I had to use my company card which I didn’t want to do but had to so I didn’t have to sleep in my vehicle. Upset at the situation.

  When you walk in the door and smell nasty stale cigarette smoke, it ruins your day. Made reservations to stay, unknowing how disgusting this place is and they refuse to cancel and still charge for the room. I stay in hotels 3-4 nights a week and this is one of if not the most Disgusting smelling place I have been. RESPONSE MISUNDERSTANDING…. The only misunderstanding was you still charged me for a unsatisfactory experience. You charged me but never issued me a key for a room. You wanted 48 hours notice to cancel my reservation, but 48 hours before this I had no idea how disgusting your place is. You told Choice (where my reservations went through), the the GM would call me the next day, so that was a lie. Why would anybody stay where they trap you into paying for a room that is not satisfactory. As you are probably aware of by now I did contact the BBB and filed a complaint.

  Absolutely not, Ameristar! This place is the Howard Johnson of casino hotels. No room service. 2 little restaurants onsite don’t deliver to rooms and have limited menus and hours. The Buffett is only 3 days out of the week, it used to be daily. No valet. Housekeeping only by 24 hour advance notice request. Rooms are so basic it’s sad and depressing. When we arrived a guest had just gotten out of the pool and was walking around the lobby and casino/hotel barefoot. I’m thinking all of the germs he happily took INTO the pool. I was so disgusted with the hotel experience that I lost interest in spending my money at the casino. I was raised in Omaha and frequently went to Ameristar, but on this visit back I assumed that it was the same level of quality from what I recalled, not even close. Until they decide to do better with this hotel and stop using COVID as an excuse for subpar amenities and service I’d steer clear and choose another hotel nearby.

  It's not a bad place for a casino, but I don't recommend for newcomers. My boyfriend and I have never been to a casino, so we decided to give this one a try. The employees at the customer service windows were no help at all when we didn't understand how things worked there. They honestly didn't seem to understand, either, which makes no sense to me. The way the cards work with the app and machines is truly simple, but not when you have to take multiple steps in the app to get everything set up to play, which NO ONE tells you about. 45 mins later, we finally figured out how the cards and the app work. We did have fun in the end, but our first experience with a casino could have been much better. Management needs to train their employees better if they can't explain to someone new how to set up your card and the app to play. I can't speak for my boyfriend, but I definitely have no plans to return here. I hope the next casino we go to is a better experience.
