  Recently completed a Maui trip and while on the island we stopped by Boss Frog's to look into booking a helicopter trip. Decided to book an Air Maui heli tour through them. While signing up, the couple we were with are military veterans and my buddy inquired about a military discount. The Boss Frog's agent advised no military discounts are available. We decided to go ahead and book a "doors off" heli tour over Maui and Moloka'i. Part of the process is to total every passengers weight and after we provided the info, the agent advised we would need to pay for the 5th seat, it would be empty and the heli operator would then balance the heli for flight. When we arrived for our flight, a 5th passenger had been added and there were no empty seats. We also learned from Air Maui after the flight that they offer veterans a 30% discount on rides, my buddy and his wife should have received that discount when booking. So between the double-sold 5th seat and no military discount, we were overcharged hundreds of dollars in fees. Boss Frog's does a good job renting snorkel equipment and beach accessories, but highly recommend booking any heli tour directly through the operator so you don't get overcharged for phantom empty seats, excessive fuel and booking fees, and you receive any other discounts (military) offered by the heli company.

  We reserved helicopter rides thru this shop. You are better off getting your reservations directly from Air Maui especially if you’re getting a military discount. It ended up costing us a lot more going thru Boss Frogs which is why they only get 2 stars from me. The helicopter ride was amazing 5 star for sure, highly recommend. Just check with the locals directly so you don’t have pay their booking fees.

  We rented snorkel gear from Roland and had a friendly experience! Great price, clean equipment, and very convenient. Also a good place for souvenirs. 10/10 would rent again.

  After watching us snorkel, my wife wanted to join us and rented gear from this shop because it was close to our condo. Staff was friendly but their snorkel gear is sub par. The biggest problem was a flexible snorkel that flopped around and would kink...not great for a beginner! My wife was so frustrated with the equipment that she gave up on even trying snorkeling, even opting not to use the rigid snorkel that I had rented from a different rental store. When my wife returned the rental gear and informed the staff of the issues, they were dismissive and not concerned about her frustrations. Consider going elsewhere!
