  I would like to make a formal complaint against one of your staff members, who told us his name was Clarence. My friend and I had booked a 3:30pm to 8pm slot at the outdoor pool and arrived early, around 1:30pm, specifically to get a good space. We queued from around 2pm and waited until around 3pm, when staff told us we couldn’t use our email confirmation and had to log into the app instead. While we were doing this, staff started handing out wristbands. I noticed people behind us had green wristbands while my friend and I, along with a few people in front of us, did not. I asked Clarence if we could get wristbands and he said no. We kept asking because we were worried we’d be let in after everyone else despite queuing early. Clarence rudely lectured us, saying we had been on our phones and they “skipped us,” even though we were only on our phones because staff had just told us to retrieve the tickets through the app. Clarence was incredibly rude and aggressive, especially toward me, a nineteen-year-old girl. We repeatedly asked him for wristbands while he was actively holding and handing them out, but he refused and said he didn’t have to explain himself. He argued with an entire group of women over wristbands and seemed to go out of his way to avoid helping us. When the women in front of us went to the back and successfully got wristbands, my friend tried the same thing, but Clarence told staff not to give us any. It was shocking to be treated differently simply because we were trying to retrieve our tickets as instructed. We paid for the event, queued early, and simply asked for the wristbands everyone else was receiving. Instead of helping, Clarence continued arguing and behaving in an unnecessarily hostile and authoritative way over a bright green piece of paper. Aside from this experience, the pool itself was nice, although the water was cold. However, this was genuinely the worst encounter I’ve ever had with an employee, and it completely ruined the experience.

  It's a great pool, I just wish it was heated. I feel it would get so much more use as well. Just even to 21c would be good. I went on a 28c day as a lane swimmer and just found it too cold, got a bit dizzy. Could use a few more toilets.

  Really large lido that gets unsurprisingly popular in the summer months. We had the SLSC membership which is good value and allows you to come during the months when it’s closed to the public and a lot quieter - much colder though!
