From arrival to departure, the current wardens could not do enough. They were pleasant and polite. The was an incident when the Internet router went down and was sorted within the day. Will definately be back

Lovely site in a peaceful location with excellent walks by the river. Recommend the walk to Bolton abbey down the river then back on the other side to the aqueduct. Nice cafe at Bolton Abbey too and a small one by the campsite entrance.

A really lovely, quiet stay in a great location. The site is peaceful, well‑kept, and ideal for a relaxing break. The shop was good, and the staff were really nice and welcoming. The only small niggle was the shower setup — there’s no dry area for clothing, so I had to take a carrier bag in with me to keep things off the wet floor. The showers themselves were clean and tidy though. The WiFi could have been a bit better, but it wasn’t a major issue — just something to be aware of.Overall, a great stay and I’d happily return.

A fantastic stay in a beautiful setting. The site enjoys a superb location within the Bolton Abbey Estate, making it an ideal base for exploring the Yorkshire Dales. If you’re approaching from the south, be mindful of the stone archway on arrival. It has a stated clearance of 2.8m, but it certainly feels a lot tighter when you’re driving a larger caravan or motorhome! The campsite itself is nestled amongst woodland, offering a lovely mix of sunny and shaded pitches. During spring, carpets of wild bluebells emerge between the pitches, adding even more charm to an already picturesque setting. Pitch sizes are generous throughout the site. A few of those on the lower section aren’t perfectly level, but nothing that a set of levelling ramps can’t easily sort out if needed. The facilities are excellent and immaculately maintained, and the team provide a genuinely warm welcome that creates a friendly and relaxed atmosphere from the moment you arrive. One of the biggest attractions is the easy access to the estate’s walking trails. Beautiful riverside paths, woodland walks and the iconic Abbey itself are all within easy reach from the site. There’s also a lovely tearoom at the entrance, with several other cafés and refreshment stops dotted around the estate. For nature lovers, the site is a real treat. There is nothing quite like waking to the dawn chorus echoing through the woodland, accompanied by the unmistakable tapping of a woodpecker. On our final morning, we were even lucky enough to hear a cuckoo calling — a perfect reminder of just how special this setting is. One thing worth noting is that if you plan to drive around the estate, parking is charged per vehicle, currently £15 for a day pass. Overall, this is a wonderful site in a stunning location, with excellent facilities, friendly staff and endless opportunities for walking, wildlife watching and exploring. We’d happily return.

An amazing place to park up in a campervan, right amongst the bluebells and trees of the Strid woods. Plenty of space between pitches (all electric hook-up) and the shop was well-stocked. Very clean toilet block, lots of toilet and wash basin cubicles, and the showers were nice and hot. A ten-minute stroll through bluebells and wild garlic was all it took to get down down to the Strid - absolutely beautiful.
