Lower Wensleydale Caravan and Motorhome Club Campsite, based in North Yorkshire, is set within the sheltered hollow of a disused quarry that is overrun with wild flowers, mosses and mature trees. A special area is set aside for tents. The site is also the perfect spot to watch the local steam trains pass by. Leyburn is a thriving market town and is home to The Little Chocolate Shop where you can tour the factory. Further afield is Richmond a bustling market town. Worth a visit is the White Scar Cave in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Wonderful walking, cycling and dog walking country with superb scenic views. Ideal for families, couples and dog owners.

- JHJohn HammondAug 27, 20265.0We stayed in late August. The site was very peaceful and we liked the pitches scattered amongst the trees. The facilities were good and the staff were as friendly as everyone says. As advised the WiFi only works in the vicinity of the reception building and the 4G coverage is sketchy so be prepared. Hopefully some money will be found for an upgrade. To respond to the reply below yes it's a good idea to check the WiFi heat map but there isn't one for this site (for good reason, it would just be a blob of colour on the reception building).
- JAJason ArmstrongAug 18, 20264.0Took or caravan to this site and wasnot disapointed , the facilitys were clean and tidy, its about 20/25 min walk to Leyburn where theres plenty of shops / pubs / eating places ect. we stop in a few local pubs and brewery on the walk back with the dogs and everyone made us welcome , were going back this year.

- KJKatie JaneAug 15, 20265.0A really lovely stay at Wenslydale Caravan Site, we were a little apprehensive after reading some of the reviews regarding the wardens, we needn't worry they honestly were the nicest wardens we have come across, friendly, welcoming and helpful. The shower blocks are maybe a little dated compared to others we have stayed at - HOWEVER they are spotlessly clean - ladies and mens closed for 1 hour 15 every day for a deep clean and this reflects in the standards. The area is lovely, everyone was friendly, the five of us had a lovely time + the 2 🐕

Can non-members book campsites online?
Yes, non-members can book selected Club campsites online. Non-members are required to pay an additional supplement of �15 per night to stay upon arrival at site. Tent pitches can also be booked online, there is no non-member supplement to be paid when booking a tent pitch.
Does the Club own any overseas sites?
We work closely with over 310 campsites which are regularly visited and inspected by Club staff. We don't own or directly manage any overseas sites.

Do I need a different driving licence for driving a motorhome or towing a caravan?
If you passed your test before 1st January 1997, you are able to drive any combination of car and caravan, or any motorhome with a weight of up to 7500kg (or 8250kg with a trailer). If your licence starts after 1st January 1997 then you can drive a car and caravan with a combined maximum weight of 3500kg (or 4250kg to include a small trailer weighing no more than 750kg). You can also drive a motorhome with a weight of up to 3500kg (with a small trailer of up to 750kg, or a heavier trailer if the combined maximum weight is no more than 3500kg). For all drivers aged 70 and over, the motorhome weight allowance is reduced to 3500kg maximum weight, unless a medical report is supplied.

How do I access the free Wi-Fi?
When you arrive at the campsite, you will be able to access FREE Wi-Fi (for basic browsing and emails only) after registering on the portal. The portal is only available when you are located in the hotspot area on a Club campsite offering Wi-Fi.
Where on the site will the hotspot be located?
The wireless hotspot will be located close to reception. Sharing a limited bandwidth with others may also vary the speed of service with some sites being a distance from the exchange. Our service is suitable for basic web surfing and emails but not updates or streaming e.g. BBC iPlayer and YouTube.
Do I have to be a member to stay on a UK campsite?
Non-members are welcome to book and stay at many of the Club campsites, however there are some that are member-exclusive. This information is available on each individual campsite webpage. Members may bring friends or family too, as long as they stay for the same duration.
How long can you stay on a Club Campsite?
Yes, however, if you have multiple pitch types booked within the duration of your stay, it may not be possible for you to remain on the same pitch for your entire stay. During busy periods you will potentially need to move to the pitch(es) you originally booked.
Can I stay on Club campsites with a tent?
It�s likely that since the Directory was printed, the campsite has withdrawn from our network and so will not appear online. If you feel that there is still an error, please phone us on 01342 327 490.
Can I book different pitch types throughout a stay?

Trailer tents and folding campers are considered the equivalent to a caravan, rather than a tent so they are therefore accepted on Club campsites that wouldn�t normally permit conventional tents. Search for our outfit types page for a comprehensive list of outfit types we welcome.
Are self-build conversions welcome?
Yes, roof top tents are welcome at our Club campsites. Search for our outfit types page for a comprehensive list of outfit types we welcome.
Are trailer tents and folding campers welcome?
Boats aren�t designed to be used for accommodation on land and so, unfortunately, we don�t accept them on our campsites. The only exception to this is Wilderness Boats, which are small canal boats that are purposely designed for dual use on the land and in the water. Search for our outfit types page for a comprehensive list of outfit types we welcome.
Are roof top tents welcome?
New members can have online access as little as one hour after joining online. Your email confirmation containing your membership number usually arrives within 48 hours of joining online.
Are boats on trailers welcome?
You can include a joint member to your membership free of charge. Additional family members can be added for �10 each. Joint and family members must live at the same address as the lead member and be over 18 years old.
If I become a member online, how quickly will I be able to book UK Club campsites?
If you are the full member you can amend your membership details under My Profile. You can also amend your membership details, including amending joint or family members, by using Webchat or phoning our membership services line.
