Clumber Park Club Campsite is set amongst 4000 acres of lush Nottinghamshire parkland. There are plenty of opportunities for walking and cycling and the site has a popular play area, great for the kids. There’s plenty to explore in what was once known as Sherwood Forest and the reminders of the area’s most famous resident, Robin Hood, are not to be missed. The Sherwood Forest Visitor Centre is a mere 10 miles from Clumber Park Caravan and Motorhome Club Campsite and offers lots of attractions to entertain and educate about this legendary figure. Visit the Major Oak, said to have been the hideout of Robin Hood and his merry men.

Access
The site is easily accessible from the M1/A1 and A57, and has easy access drive.
Location
Within a forest so it’s a great location for those enjoying walking and cycling.
Nearby attractions
Clumber Park. It’s what you’re there for. We don’t go anywhere else. It’s nice to park the car and just not use it. There’s a bar at a nearby hotel which you can walk or cycle too, but the beer choice and venue is unremarkable.
The Park Inn near the village is a good shout for a cheap round. Better than the hotel and run by village volunteers. Dog friendly as well.
Pitch
We’ve been twice and had both hardstanding and grass pitches. Both were fine and despite rain, our grass pitches didn’t become waterlogged. This site does feel a little more hemmed in than usual CAMH club sites.
What ground my gears though were people walking through your pitch (adults and children), even walking between the caravan sons our table and chairs. It felt much looser for rules here than most CAMH sites which are usually more fastidious
Facilities
The toilet blocks which are clean and modern. Each building also split in two so there is always facilities even during cleaning times. However for the site size there doesn’t feel to be enough toilets and showers. I often found them engaged.
There is also a sizeable bike store on site which can only be accessed with a key fob. You’ll need your own locks, but we never bothered on bot visits and they remained safe and sound within the store.
Connectivity
There is no mobile signal on site so no mobile internet via your phone supplier. For an outdoor site this is a good thing for a bit of digital detox. I don’t use CAMH club WiFi solutions so can’t comment on that connectivity.
There is an aerial socket on the hookup so you can wire your TV in for TV reception should you wish as there isn’t any signal.
Staff
Helpful and friendly on arrival and during our stay. They did pull us up on leaving our dog in the caravan for an hour while we cycled. We were told it’s was baring the moment we left till we got back and scratching the door to get out and in distress. It wasn’t barking when we left nor when we got back nor any scratch marks. It was well ventilated with airflow and cooler in than out, and as it’s a Cockapoo, it wasn’t in distress it’s just a div like most Cockapoos. He’ll have heard kids and want to play. They left a voicemail but as there is no signal we never obviously never received. It felt a bit dramatised.
Recommend
Yes. A good family location for being outdoors and away from screens.

We had a fantastic stay here. It’s the perfect base for exploring the huge park. The site is exceptionally well maintained, with spotless facilities that were always clean and tidy. The staff were welcoming, friendly, and always happy to help. We’d definitely recommend it and look forward to returning.

Great site. Immaculate facilities. A little isolated from neighbouring villages/towns, unless you have transport of some sort. Recommend a bike. The one and only downside is... No service for your mobile phone , yes we can live without our phone but because we are newbies and this was only our 3rd time out in our campervan we both had a brain freeze on some of the set up which i had a video of but couldn't play it! ( Learned from that ). Fortunately the next morning when we went for our walk towards the visitors centre we managed to get a signal as soon as we left the site. Clumber Park is very beautiful with lots of paths, wildlife and scenery.
