Burrs Country Park Caravan and Motorhome Club Campsite near Bury, Lancashire offers everything from relaxing river and countryside walks to contemporary art and the East Lancashire Steam Railway nearby. The site is based around the River Irwell and the remains of two cotton mills. There are many interesting archaeological remains and water courses in the area because of this. Burrs Country Park itself is just north of Bury town centre and has handy public transport links to Manchester. Travelling north and east of Bury, you’ll find picturesque countryside with numerous small towns and villages, perfect for exploring on foot.

- GSGraham SimpsonAug 27, 20265.0Tucked in the middle of Burrs Country Park, this site has it all: peace and tranquility, a country pub with beer garden (dog friendly), ice cream shop and a steam railway with it's own station direct from site. The country park has the river Irwell running through it and there are many dog walks and park areas to enjoy. A short drive away is Peel Tower which offers stunning views. Site facilities are good, including: toilet block, laundry, dog wash and potwash areas. Several water/waste service points. The staff are very helpful and friendly. Site has goodTV/radio reception and excellent mobile signal reception (Vodafone/Smarty).

Located in a park with plenty of walks, about a 30 min walk into Bury. The East Lancs Railway stops next to the site. A mixture of steam and diesel engines run every half hour. Not a lot of off road cycling opportunities.

Not acceptable but the male warden publicly humiliated them and as a witness made them look like criminals. It wasn’t their membership but they stayed in a members caravan. But the warden said to the male “ you could be a convicted murderer” and I heard that…’ unbelievable . He should be sacked immediately . You can’t accuse members of the public like that
- SLStuart LakinJul 17, 20261.0Tried to book today for 4 adults n 2 kids n 2 dogs for a cheeky weekend away n got quoted over £100 a night which is absolutely extortionate prices n dam right greedy site trying to get campers etc like myself to pay absolutely top whack fee's I mean you could get a room in town for cheaper i decided there n then I will not n never pay this site or any other site over £10] a night to stay there dont care what they have to offer n reading up on it it's just clean n basic stuff...I hope burrs management read this n take a good look at your pricing cos it is robbing the decent folk like myself who want a short break with family...you should be ASHAMED bigtime

Can non-members book campsites online?
Yes, non-members can book selected Club campsites online. Non-members are required to pay an additional supplement of �15 per night to stay upon arrival at site. Tent pitches can also be booked online, there is no non-member supplement to be paid when booking a tent pitch.
Does the Club own any overseas sites?
We work closely with over 310 campsites which are regularly visited and inspected by Club staff. We don't own or directly manage any overseas sites.
How do I book an overseas site?

Do I need a different driving licence for driving a motorhome or towing a caravan?
If you passed your test before 1st January 1997, you are able to drive any combination of car and caravan, or any motorhome with a weight of up to 7500kg (or 8250kg with a trailer). If your licence starts after 1st January 1997 then you can drive a car and caravan with a combined maximum weight of 3500kg (or 4250kg to include a small trailer weighing no more than 750kg). You can also drive a motorhome with a weight of up to 3500kg (with a small trailer of up to 750kg, or a heavier trailer if the combined maximum weight is no more than 3500kg). For all drivers aged 70 and over, the motorhome weight allowance is reduced to 3500kg maximum weight, unless a medical report is supplied.

How do I access the free Wi-Fi?
When you arrive at the campsite, you will be able to access FREE Wi-Fi (for basic browsing and emails only) after registering on the portal. The portal is only available when you are located in the hotspot area on a Club campsite offering Wi-Fi.
Where on the site will the hotspot be located?
The wireless hotspot will be located close to reception. Sharing a limited bandwidth with others may also vary the speed of service with some sites being a distance from the exchange. Our service is suitable for basic web surfing and emails but not updates or streaming e.g. BBC iPlayer and YouTube.
Do I have to be a member to stay on a UK campsite?
Non-members are welcome to book and stay at many of the Club campsites, however there are some that are member-exclusive. This information is available on each individual campsite webpage. Members may bring friends or family too, as long as they stay for the same duration.
How long can you stay on a Club Campsite?
Yes, however, if you have multiple pitch types booked within the duration of your stay, it may not be possible for you to remain on the same pitch for your entire stay. During busy periods you will potentially need to move to the pitch(es) you originally booked.
Can I stay on Club campsites with a tent?
It�s likely that since the Directory was printed, the campsite has withdrawn from our network and so will not appear online. If you feel that there is still an error, please phone us on 01342 327 490.

Are trailer tents and folding campers welcome?
Boats aren�t designed to be used for accommodation on land and so, unfortunately, we don�t accept them on our campsites. The only exception to this is Wilderness Boats, which are small canal boats that are purposely designed for dual use on the land and in the water. Are roof top tents welcome?
New members can have online access as little as one hour after joining online. Your email confirmation containing your membership number usually arrives within 48 hours of joining online.
Are boats on trailers welcome?
You can include a joint member to your membership free of charge. Additional family members can be added for �10 each. Joint and family members must live at the same address as the lead member and be over 18 years old.

If you are the full member you can amend your membership details under My Profile. You can also amend your membership details, including amending joint or family members, by using Webchat or phoning our membership services line.
