Black Knowl (New Forest) Caravan and Motorhome Club Campsite, near Brockenhurst, Hampshire offers an open, peaceful ambience in a beautiful forest setting, whilst being conveniently located within walking distance of Brockenhurst, which offers plenty of restaurants, shops and other attractions for the family. The site opens onto an expanse of lovely walking trails for you to explore via foot, cycle or horseback. For history enthusiasts, the Lyndhurst Museum and Visitors Centre delves into the fascinating past of the Forest. Other nearby attractions include the National Motor Museum at Beaulieu, Lepe Country Park, Exbury Gardens and the New Forest Reptile Centre. The Isle of Wight, Southampton and Bournemouth are within easy reach for a day trip.

- APAlison PillansSep 12, 20265.0Spent a lovely 2 weeks at Black Knowl. Our first visit to this lovely area. Loved seeing the ponies and donkeys roaming free. By the time we arrived (8.5hr journey from the North East) there was only one serviced pitch left which was in a great spot. Plenty of room for our twin axle, full awning and car. Friendly wardens and site is well looked after. Site was very quiet at night. A lovely spot right in the forest. About a 30 min walk into Brockenhurst. Lots of walks from the site. Thankfully water nearby for our 2 golden retriever’s as we had hot weather most days. Can recommend the Forest Park Hotel for a drink in their garden at the rear which was lovely. Hubby had his best pint there. Enzee Italian restaurant by the train station was excellent and allowed dogs as did The Snakecatcher pub which had a lovely garden area and really nice food. Our favourite tearoom was Esme’s which again was dog friendly and a nice outside garden area well shaded from the sun. All in all a great visit. We did a trip to Lymington, took the ferry across to the Isle of Wight as foot passengers and walked from Bucklers Hard to Beaulieu
- HAHelen AtackAug 13, 20265.0Stayed at Black Knowl for 2 weeks in July/August. Great site for it's position, with a half an hour walk into Brockenhurst where there are plenty of shops and eateries to choose from in a village atmosphere. The site is well managed and the facilities were kept clean with plenty of showers, private cubicles and family bathrooms. Visiting vans fir take away food in the summer to October were Mon - Fri No dog walk on the site as at the entrance you can walk for miles in the New Forest. Holiday makers must be aware this is a popular area for ponies and dog owners should respect them grazy close to the site when exercising their dogs. A small river was a welcome cool off for young children and dogs in the heat of the summer. Only slight downside is that due to the sites location it is more expensive but you don't have to move your car as a positive.

How do I join the Caravan and Motorhome Club?
You can join online or by calling 01342 318 813, Monday to Friday 9am to 5.30pm. You can also join at Club Campsites, at our caravanning shows or pick up an application leaflet at most UK caravan dealers.
How much does membership cost?
Membership of the Caravan and Motorhome Club (previously The Caravan Club) costs £66 a year (for you, a partner, and children under 18). There is an additional £10 joining fee unless you pay by Direct Debit. Add more family members (over 18 years old) for £10 per person. What are the benefits of joining the Caravan and Motorhome Club?
Membership of the Caravan and Motorhome Club (formerly The Caravan Club) gives you access to our entire sites network, including thousands of privately owned 5-van sites (Certificated Locations), plus you’ll save £15 per night by no longer paying the non-member site fee. You can also take out Caravan Cover and a range of insurance products, and can enjoy discounts on a range of products and services.

What insurance and financial services does the Caravan and Motorhome Club offer?
As well as Caravan Cover, the Club offers a range of insurance products including Motorhome and Campervan Insurance, Car Insurance, Home Insurance, Bike and Ebike Insurance and Overseas Holiday Insurance (including travel and European breakdown cover), as well as MAYDAY UK Breakdown Cover. What types of pitch are available?
Pitch surface, size and service options vary with each campsite. Details can be found on our pitch types page, including which sites have seasonal and storage pitches.
Can non-members book campsites online?
Yes, non-members can book selected Club campsites online. Non-members are required to pay an additional supplement of £15 per night to stay upon arrival at site. Tent pitches can also be booked online, there is no non-member supplement to be paid when booking a tent pitch.
Does the Club own any overseas sites?
We work closely with over 310 campsites which are regularly visited and inspected by Club staff. We don't own or directly manage any overseas sites.
How do I book an overseas site?
Overseas campsite bookings can easily be made on the Club website and 'combined deals' are common when you book a campsite at the same time as your ferry crossing. Booking online means you save the £20 Contact Centre booking fee.
Do I need a different driving licence for driving a motorhome or towing a caravan?
If you passed your test before 1st January 1997, you are able to drive any combination of car and caravan, or any motorhome with a weight of up to 7500kg (or 8250kg with a trailer). If your licence starts after 1st January 1997 then you can drive a car and caravan with a combined maximum weight of 3500kg (or 4250kg to include a small trailer weighing no more than 750kg). You can also drive a motorhome with a weight of up to 3500kg (with a small trailer of up to 750kg, or a heavier trailer if the combined maximum weight is no more than 3500kg). For all drivers aged 70 and over, the motorhome weight allowance is reduced to 3500kg maximum weight, unless a medical report is supplied.

How do I access the free Wi-Fi?
When you arrive at the campsite, you will be able to access FREE Wi-Fi (for basic browsing and emails only) after registering on the portal. The portal is only available when you are located in the hotspot area on a Club campsite offering Wi-Fi.
Where on the site will the hotspot be located?
The wireless hotspot will be located close to reception. Sharing a limited bandwidth with others may also vary the speed of service with some sites being a distance from the exchange. Our service is suitable for basic web surfing and emails but not updates or streaming e.g. BBC iPlayer and YouTube.
Do I have to be a member to stay on a UK campsite?
Non-members are welcome to book and stay at many of the Club campsites, however there are some that are member-exclusive. This information is available on each individual campsite webpage. Members may bring friends or family too, as long as they stay for the same duration.
How long can you stay on a Club Campsite?

Can I stay on Club campsites with a tent?
Yes, more than 50 Club campsites welcome tent campers. Simply head to the campsite webpage you wish to stay at and book a tent pitch online. If availability shows full, there may still be availability, so please call the campsite directly. There is no non-member fee supplement to pay when staying in a tent.Trailer Tents (a folding tent which packs into a trailer) are also welcome at all UK Club campsites.
Can I book different pitch types throughout a stay?
Yes, however, if you have multiple pitch types booked within the duration of your stay, it may not be possible for you to remain on the same pitch for your entire stay. During busy periods you will potentially need to move to the pitch(es) you originally booked.
I'm unable to find a campsite on the website that is published in the Directory, why is that?
It’s likely that since the Directory was printed, the campsite has withdrawn from our network and so will not appear online. If you feel that there is still an error, please phone us on 01342 327 490.

Are trailer tents and folding campers welcome?
Trailer tents and folding campers are considered the equivalent to a caravan, rather than a tent so they are therefore accepted on Club campsites that wouldn’t normally permit conventional tents. Search for our outfit types page for a comprehensive list of outfit types we welcome.
Are roof top tents welcome?
Yes, roof top tents are welcome at our Club campsites. Search for our outfit types page for a comprehensive list of outfit types we welcome.
Are boats on trailers welcome?
Boats aren’t designed to be used for accommodation on land and so, unfortunately, we don’t accept them on our campsites. The only exception to this is Wilderness Boats, which are small canal boats that are purposely designed for dual use on the land and in the water. Search for our outfit types page for a comprehensive list of outfit types we welcome.
If I become a member online, how quickly will I be able to book UK Club campsites?
New members can have online access as little as one hour after joining online. Your email confirmation containing your membership number usually arrives within 48 hours of joining online.
Can I add somebody to my membership?
You can include a joint member to your membership free of charge. Additional family members can be added for £10 each. Joint and family members must live at the same address as the lead member and be over 18 years old.
How can I amend my membership details?
If you are the full member you can amend your membership details under My Profile. You can also amend your membership details, including amending joint or family members, by using Webchat or phoning our membership services line.
How do I renew my membership?

There are no arrivals to the Club campsite after 8pm. If you encounter a problem with your journey, please contact the Club campsite before 6pm.
