We recently stayed at Black Knowl campsite. It is a great location. The wardens work hard to keep it 5* condition, the toilets and shower blocks are spotlessly clean. I’d particularly like to thank the person who very kindly handed in my necklace found outside the shower blocks to the wardens. It was of great sentimental value to me. I also want to thank the warden (I'm so sorry I didn't get your name) who went above and beyond to hand deliver it back to me. It's a reminder in this day and age, with all the negative news, that there's more good than bad people in this world! On behalf of Lynn Valentine

Absolutely stunning location — the site is really clean, well-maintained, and lovely to stay at. We love the surroundings, with wild horses, cows, and beautiful scenery right on your doorstep. We’ve stayed here a few times and it’s usually a wonderful experience. However, on our most recent visit, one male staff member was extremely rude to my parents regarding where they could park their campervan. The campsite has a very strict no entry until 1 pm policy, but there isn’t really anywhere else to park beforehand. The same staff member also told them they couldn’t have a windbreak between the two pitches — which we understand is a fire safety rule — but then proceeded to swear at my parents, which was completely unacceptable. It’s such a shame, as the rest of the team and the campsite itself are fantastic. This one person really let down the Black Knowl team, especially considering we had a 4-year-old with us. Hopefully this was an isolated incident, as we still love the site and the beautiful location.

Amazing location with open fields soon as you set foot out the site. Woods that you can walk round for miles, loose wildlife everywhere. Short walk into nearest village with plenty of little shops. The site facilities are top notch and the staff were always working. Only downside was had to move our van over a foot but our own fault for not being between the markers. But plenty of room and doesn’t feel too crowded even when site was full. Fish and chips one night weren’t cheap from a visiting trader but they were worth the money. Even with a full site never struggled to get a shower. Will definitely return.
