Cirencester Park Caravan and Motorhome Club Campsite
This is one of the "upgraded" sites (like Broadway) where they have introduced the impersonal ANPR system - which requires you to prepay, drive straight through without visiting reception to meet the team and you are left to figure out the vast site's map (over 200 pitches) whilst driving round the complicated maze of roads.
The MSP's are hard to find and the one I found was on a slope and with my almost 8 metre long van - ot was precarious.
You are supposed to text your pitch number to reception apparently - a point which skipped my attention as this new "upgraded" system is unfamiliar to me.
In this BOILING weather I wanted a shady pitch and found a nice one close to the dog walk and totally in the shade- perfect.
After a 4.5 hour drive to the site - I was tired - so I set up my van on pitch 160 (pretty much the furthest away from reception, did a toilet break for the dog in the FANTASTIC (5 STAR) dog field
I then trudged to Reception to tell them my pitch number to be told I would have to move because it's a tent pitch (I have paid for 2 nights plus my annual membership) even though they currently dont have any tent bookings (in case someone from Pitchup makes a booking). FYI CAMC members - people who book on PitchUp dont have to be members.
So in this heat, after a 4.5 hour drive, I had to pack everything up again and move literally 2 pitches along.
The site is huge and I guess the CAMC CEO wants to improve efficiency - well as a member why i want is a pleasant in person welcome, a proper introduction to the site and NOT to have to relocate my van on offchance someone wants to pitch a tent.
Oh and another stupid issue - as part of the booking we get access to the adjacent park - that's great I thought- until you realise a £10 cash deposit is needed for the access card. I have no cash on me - so my "included" option is excluded
Saving grace is the nice man at the gate who gave me the map and the dog field
Will not be staying here again - only chose it because I am going to the theater in Swindon and its the closest site.

Note to all dog owners. Clean up your own dog mess, it’s not acceptable to leave it on the roads and in the grass
The site is ideally located to town. Just a short walk. Apart from the above which is not the site staffs fault, it’s lovely and clean. The walk into town via Bathurst Estate is particularly lovely. There are lots of pubs and food places in town and the nearby brewery is a great stop. There is a farm shop called Jesse Smith and the lamb was beautiful.

We stay regularly at this excellent site to visit family; it's difficult to fault it. Access for towing is really easy and there is a convenient fast track entry system despite which you still get a friendly welcome from the excellent site team. The site is big and busy but it is well laid-out and manages to maintain a feel of caravans set in parkland. The facilities, should you need them, are well up to the Caravan Club standard. Free access to the Bathurst estate country park provides fantastic walking directly from the campsite (you'll need a £10 note as a refundable deposit to exchange for an access card).
Nothing to do with the CAMC, but mobile phone reception with some networks, including Vodafone and O2, is poor. There is club WiFi but access is clunky, speed variable, and it's limited to a single device. If you really need web access, we've found the best option to be an EE PAYG sim in a mobile router which manages to provide a stable 15-25 Mb download speed. Looking forward to going back soon.
