Situated at the top of Haldon Hill, Exeter Racecourse Caravan and Motorhome Club Campsite is adorned by vibrant heather and gorse moorland. The location of the caravan park and campsite allows for superb views of the countryside. For many, a must-visit is historic Exeter and it’s magnificent Cathedral, found at the very heart of the city. Visitors seeking the finest views of Dartmoor will delight in a stroll up Haytor and Canonteign Falls, the highest of all in England. Haldon Forest Park offers an excellent range of dog walks and hikes, cycling and mountain bike trails, as well as a Go Ape course. Exeter Racecourse Caravan and Motorhome Club Campsite also offers easy access to scenic walks along the River Exe to the Quay.

Motorhome service point easily Accessible. Great for walks around the racecourse with the dogs and a good location for a stopover
- ACanthony chackettJul 13, 20255.0Well, we had a fabulous stay here. Limited to just one night unfortunately. Firstly we had a lovely welcome in reception from Julie. It was a really super, friendly welcome and was very much appreciated. We were given great information, clear and concise and we weren't rushed to find a pitch. The pitches are large with lots of space around them and the views across the site are very nice indeed. Plenty of nature around and the hedgerows aren't manicured to within an inch of their lives. A bit like being in a meadow. It was very enjoyable. Shower and toilet facilities are clean and smart with large shower cubicles with plenty of hot water and thankfully you don't have to push a button every few seconds for water. Also, the water drop off and pick up is well designed and clean. I normally begrudge paying UK campsite prices however I'd happily pay £23.50 with C&MH membership here. It was well worth it and we will definitely return

Large open spaces, and great areas for our 2 German shepherds. Site is beautifully maintained and toilets were spotless. Would not have liked to have been in the "quiet" area as this was a long walk if using the site toilets. Wardens could not have been more helpful.Fish and chip van was ideal on site on Fridays. Saved washing up and food was good. Large stores are close for shopping, and services were less than 5 minutes drive. Would definitely use this site again.

What types of pitch are available?

Can non-members book campsites online?
Yes, non-members can book selected Club campsites online. Non-members are required to pay an additional supplement of �15 per night to stay upon arrival at site. Tent pitches can also be booked online, there is no non-member supplement to be paid when booking a tent pitch.
Does the Club own any overseas sites?
We work closely with over 310 campsites which are regularly visited and inspected by Club staff. We don't own or directly manage any overseas sites.
How do I book an overseas site?

Do I need a different driving licence for driving a motorhome or towing a caravan?
If you passed your test before 1st January 1997, you are able to drive any combination of car and caravan, or any motorhome with a weight of up to 7500kg (or 8250kg with a trailer). If your licence starts after 1st January 1997 then you can drive a car and caravan with a combined maximum weight of 3500kg (or 4250kg to include a small trailer weighing no more than 750kg). You can also drive a motorhome with a weight of up to 3500kg (with a small trailer of up to 750kg, or a heavier trailer if the combined maximum weight is no more than 3500kg). For all drivers aged 70 and over, the motorhome weight allowance is reduced to 3500kg maximum weight, unless a medical report is supplied.

How do I access the free Wi-Fi?
When you arrive at the campsite, you will be able to access FREE Wi-Fi (for basic browsing and emails only) after registering on the portal. The portal is only available when you are located in the hotspot area on a Club campsite offering Wi-Fi.
Where on the site will the hotspot be located?
The wireless hotspot will be located close to reception. Sharing a limited bandwidth with others may also vary the speed of service with some sites being a distance from the exchange. Our service is suitable for basic web surfing and emails but not updates or streaming e.g. BBC iPlayer and YouTube.
Do I have to be a member to stay on a UK campsite?
Non-members are welcome to book and stay at many of the Club campsites, however there are some that are member-exclusive. This information is available on each individual campsite webpage. Members may bring friends or family too, as long as they stay for the same duration.
How long can you stay on a Club Campsite?
Yes, however, if you have multiple pitch types booked within the duration of your stay, it may not be possible for you to remain on the same pitch for your entire stay. During busy periods you will potentially need to move to the pitch(es) you originally booked.
Can I stay on Club campsites with a tent?
It�s likely that since the Directory was printed, the campsite has withdrawn from our network and so will not appear online. If you feel that there is still an error, please phone us on 01342 327 490.
Can I book different pitch types throughout a stay?
Yes, standard caravans are welcome at our Club campsites. Search for our outfit types page for a comprehensive list of outfit types we welcome.

Are standard motorhomes welcome?
Trailer tents and folding campers are considered the equivalent to a caravan, rather than a tent so they are therefore accepted on Club campsites that wouldn�t normally permit conventional tents. Search for our outfit types page for a comprehensive list of outfit types we welcome.
Are self-build conversions welcome?
Yes, roof top tents are welcome at our Club campsites. Search for our outfit types page for a comprehensive list of outfit types we welcome.
Are trailer tents and folding campers welcome?
Boats aren�t designed to be used for accommodation on land and so, unfortunately, we don�t accept them on our campsites. The only exception to this is Wilderness Boats, which are small canal boats that are purposely designed for dual use on the land and in the water. Search for our outfit types page for a comprehensive list of outfit types we welcome.
Are roof top tents welcome?
New members can have online access as little as one hour after joining online. Your email confirmation containing your membership number usually arrives within 48 hours of joining online.
Are boats on trailers welcome?
You can include a joint member to your membership free of charge. Additional family members can be added for �10 each. Joint and family members must live at the same address as the lead member and be over 18 years old.
If I become a member online, how quickly will I be able to book UK Club campsites?
If you are the full member you can amend your membership details under My Profile. You can also amend your membership details, including amending joint or family members, by using Webchat or phoning our membership services line.
Can I add somebody to my membership?
A reminder will be sent a few weeks before your membership expiry date. You can renew online or by calling our Contact Centre on 01342 318 813.

There are no arrivals to the Club campsite after 8pm. If you encounter a problem with your journey, please contact the Club campsite before 6pm.
