  Been quite a few years since we’ve visited this site. Still lovely, set among tall trees, friendly staff, clean facilities. I only have one criticism, which is why I haven’t given this site 5 stars. The pitches are too close together. We were in a hard standing, and the grass between the pitches was only about 6 foot wide. Plus, our hard standing wasn’t very level, side to side or front to back. Making levelling very difficult, and needed several chocks under the rear steadies. The poor couple next to us, who didn’t have chocks, had to resort to placing rocks under their rear steadies. At £42 per night, I think we deserve level pitches on hard standing.

  A Little Gem in the Countryside What an absolute find! From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed and completely at home. The campsite was spotless, well-organised, and had everything we needed for a relaxing break. The pitches were a great size, so we didn’t feel like we were camping on top of our neighbours. The facilities were some of the cleanest we’ve come across, and it’s always a pleasant surprise when you don’t have to hold your breath while walking into the shower block! The atmosphere around the site was lovely. Everyone was friendly, and there was a real sense of community without feeling crowded or noisy. It was the perfect balance between peace and having people around for a friendly chat.

  We just had a short 3 night stay here and it’s been fabulous! The site was quiet and peaceful despite being busy (almost full). The layout helps I think as there are small groups of pitches separated by trees. There were lots of families here, and a couple of small play areas for them to enjoy. We were not directly near these play areas so didn’t hear a peep from any kids playing at all (not that we mind if we do as it means they are having fun!) The facilities were clean and well looked after. The staff were really friendly and welcoming and the little shop is great for picking up some essentials or an ice cream! The pitches are different sizes throughout but we had a great pitch that suited our needs and provided a good amount of shade for our dog on the hotter days on Thursday and Friday- meaning she should sleep the day away until it was cool enough for her to be out walking and exploring. There are designated dog walking areas surrounding the site, with different entrances. Great during the day, but recommend a torch at night so you aren’t tripping over tree roots. Plenty of dog bins at each entrance as well, so always somewhere to dispose of their business. The dog wash was helpful for cooling the dog down, but would also be great if the weather wasn’t as good and she got a bit muddy! It is a short walk to the reservoir as advertised, but more than 15 mins to get to the visitor centre but it’s a flat pathway all the way there and a lovely walk to do and the visitor centre is a great place to stop for a drink, ice cream or shop before exploring further afield! Due the heat, we only got out on our last day as we needed to keep the doggo safe, but we were perfectly content relaxing at our pitch, playing games and saying hi to the friendly neighbours! What I really liked about this site was how relaxed it was, other sites you can feel a bit watched by the wardens, but here they did their rounds, were friendly and you barely noticed them which was a nice change!!! Highly recommend this site and we will definitely visit again

  This is a touring campsite nestled in natural woodland with good access and facilities. We stayed on a service pitch which had water, waste and ehu. Staff were cheerful, friendly and keen to help. The unusual dog walk on a path around but inside the site boundary was very much loved by my sniffy spaniel. Carsington Reservoir next door was an interesting and beautiful place to visit. We’ll be back
