Meathop Fell Club Campsite in pretty Grange-over-Sands is an ideal base to explore North Lancashire and the southern Lake District. Visit Brockhole, the National Park Visitor Centre and discover literary associations with famous artists from Wordsworth at Dove Cottage in Grasmere to Beatrix Potter at Sawrey. The Club campsite also gives you easy access to water activities at Windermere plus sailing, canoeing and windsurfing at Coniston. In addition, plenty of flat cycling can be enjoyed nearby.

- JCJason Coupe6 days ago5.0A great location to serve as a base for exploring the lakes. Quiet park, well laid out with lots of variations and fields with a different vibe. Toilets and shower block spotless, dog paddock a great size a thoroughly nice park. Small hill and tightish turn on final approach, but we managed a large twin axle 8ft wide in. Don't arrive before 1pm as single road access for quite a while. Only negative , free park WiFi is shocking come on CAMC don't force people onto paid WiFi, should be included for members 99% of parks do move with the times. Vodafone signal worked and we had no problems with TV reception.
- OSOlivia SymondsJun 18, 20265.0We had a lovely stay here for 1 week in June. The grounds are immaculate. Lots of pitches to chose from. There was a really nice play area for children which my son loved using everyday. The toilet/shower facilities were very ckean. Indoor wash area, laundry room and inclusive bathroom which included a wet room. There's a pizza van that visits on a Friday and Saturday. Just be aware the site is quite hilly if you have limited mobility. The only annoyance is you have to have a key to access the toilet/shower rooms. This is the only club site that operates in this way that we have personally visited. The site is in a great location only 15 minutes drive from Windermere. We would definitely visit again!

- CBCedric BateJun 9, 20265.0Lovely site, great pitches plenty to choose from. Friendly and helpful wardens. All facilities were spotless. Pizza van here Friday and Saturday night, highly recommend. Good base for the Lakes as it is just off the A590. Will definately be staying here again.
- MBMarcus BallynMay 28, 20265.0Very welcoming and friendly, can't remember the couples name that live on site and have a black dog but they were both super helpful and accommodating. Toilet block was always clean, plenty of good hot showers, changing cubicles with sinks. Washing up facilities was ample. Easy arrival process and a good layout of pitches. There is pizza trailer serving fresh pizza in the evening but book your order early as she is busy but worth the wait. It was a stop off for us from Somerset to Scotland so stopped at Meathop on the way up and on the return trip. I left some clothing in the changing rooms and they found it and kept it for our return trip. A quiet, dog friendly spot that is handy for local attractions around Windermere. Would recommend and would visit again. Thank you.

Can non-members book campsites online?
Yes, non-members can book selected Club campsites online. Non-members are required to pay an additional supplement of �15 per night to stay upon arrival at site. Tent pitches can also be booked online, there is no non-member supplement to be paid when booking a tent pitch.
Does the Club own any overseas sites?
We work closely with over 310 campsites which are regularly visited and inspected by Club staff. We don't own or directly manage any overseas sites.

Do I need a different driving licence for driving a motorhome or towing a caravan?
If you passed your test before 1st January 1997, you are able to drive any combination of car and caravan, or any motorhome with a weight of up to 7500kg (or 8250kg with a trailer). If your licence starts after 1st January 1997 then you can drive a car and caravan with a combined maximum weight of 3500kg (or 4250kg to include a small trailer weighing no more than 750kg). You can also drive a motorhome with a weight of up to 3500kg (with a small trailer of up to 750kg, or a heavier trailer if the combined maximum weight is no more than 3500kg). For all drivers aged 70 and over, the motorhome weight allowance is reduced to 3500kg maximum weight, unless a medical report is supplied.

How do I access the free Wi-Fi?
When you arrive at the campsite, you will be able to access FREE Wi-Fi (for basic browsing and emails only) after registering on the portal. The portal is only available when you are located in the hotspot area on a Club campsite offering Wi-Fi.
Where on the site will the hotspot be located?
The wireless hotspot will be located close to reception. Sharing a limited bandwidth with others may also vary the speed of service with some sites being a distance from the exchange. Our service is suitable for basic web surfing and emails but not updates or streaming e.g. BBC iPlayer and YouTube.
Do I have to be a member to stay on a UK campsite?
Non-members are welcome to book and stay at many of the Club campsites, however there are some that are member-exclusive. This information is available on each individual campsite webpage. Members may bring friends or family too, as long as they stay for the same duration.
How long can you stay on a Club Campsite?
Yes, however, if you have multiple pitch types booked within the duration of your stay, it may not be possible for you to remain on the same pitch for your entire stay. During busy periods you will potentially need to move to the pitch(es) you originally booked.
Can I stay on Club campsites with a tent?
It�s likely that since the Directory was printed, the campsite has withdrawn from our network and so will not appear online. If you feel that there is still an error, please phone us on 01342 327 490.

Are trailer tents and folding campers welcome?
Boats aren�t designed to be used for accommodation on land and so, unfortunately, we don�t accept them on our campsites. The only exception to this is Wilderness Boats, which are small canal boats that are purposely designed for dual use on the land and in the water. Search for our outfit types page for a comprehensive list of outfit types we welcome.
Are roof top tents welcome?
New members can have online access as little as one hour after joining online. Your email confirmation containing your membership number usually arrives within 48 hours of joining online.
Are boats on trailers welcome?
You can include a joint member to your membership free of charge. Additional family members can be added for �10 each. Joint and family members must live at the same address as the lead member and be over 18 years old.
If I become a member online, how quickly will I be able to book UK Club campsites?
If you are the full member you can amend your membership details under My Profile. You can also amend your membership details, including amending joint or family members, by using Webchat or phoning our membership services line.
