Set in a tranquil oasis scattered with rhododendrons and in the backdrop of the lovely High Stand Forest, Englethwaite Hall Caravan and Motorhome Club Campsite is located in the Eden Valley of Carlisle. There has been an increase in the number of red squirrels in the area and the site offers a viewing hide. The area is popular for walkers due to footpath access to uncrowded landscapes. The Eden Valley riverside walk is a must. A swimming pool, cinema, restaurant and pubs can be found in the town of Carlisle and can be reached by steam train which passes through scenic countryside and waterfalls. The railway runs right past the site. Carlisle Castle and Hadrian’s Wall are only a short drive away.

- SHStephen HoyleAug 4, 20265.0Lovely woodland location but with plenty of pitching in the open. Serviced pitches available. Very good quality pitches all with hardstanding gravel. Pitch services are modern and well maintained with views from some areas of the site. Very friendly welcome from the wardens and a well kept reception with holiday essentials and ice cream to purchase. On site Services well located and in good order with black waste disposal as well as grey waste disposal and fresh water tap. The ground are neat and grass well maintained. A very nice site and typical standard for CSMC. Please note there are no toilet blocks on this site you will need to use your own caravan facilities but this is reflected in the pitch price, service pitches are about £12 less than the average we’ve paid for service pitch on our other sites this holiday. Great location for an overnight break as you travel north or south on the M6/A74 as we did on our return from Scotland to Yorkshire.
- MGMeriel GordonAug 2, 20265.0Englethwaite is a peaceful lovely campsite with friendly staff. It has an enclosed field dogs to run in and a beautiful lake to walk around. There is no shower/ toilet facilities but it never stops us visiting. Love it, love it.
- MJMal JonesJul 14, 20265.0July 2026: Despite a lack of a toilet block this campsite is ideally situated on the moors and with a great dog walk plus the walking around the lakes too. It’s one of our favourite campgrounds in this part of the world. The pitches are generally flat and with ample areas of grass around them. There are several chemical, grey water and fresh water points including one drive over grey water and fresh water point. This is an ideal stop for shorter or longer stays when close to the border.

Can non-members book campsites online?
Yes, non-members can book selected Club campsites online. Non-members are required to pay an additional supplement of �15 per night to stay upon arrival at site. Tent pitches can also be booked online, there is no non-member supplement to be paid when booking a tent pitch.
Does the Club own any overseas sites?
We work closely with over 310 campsites which are regularly visited and inspected by Club staff. We don't own or directly manage any overseas sites.

Do I need a different driving licence for driving a motorhome or towing a caravan?
If you passed your test before 1st January 1997, you are able to drive any combination of car and caravan, or any motorhome with a weight of up to 7500kg (or 8250kg with a trailer). If your licence starts after 1st January 1997 then you can drive a car and caravan with a combined maximum weight of 3500kg (or 4250kg to include a small trailer weighing no more than 750kg). You can also drive a motorhome with a weight of up to 3500kg (with a small trailer of up to 750kg, or a heavier trailer if the combined maximum weight is no more than 3500kg). For all drivers aged 70 and over, the motorhome weight allowance is reduced to 3500kg maximum weight, unless a medical report is supplied.

How do I access the free Wi-Fi?
When you arrive at the campsite, you will be able to access FREE Wi-Fi (for basic browsing and emails only) after registering on the portal. The portal is only available when you are located in the hotspot area on a Club campsite offering Wi-Fi.
Where on the site will the hotspot be located?
The wireless hotspot will be located close to reception. Sharing a limited bandwidth with others may also vary the speed of service with some sites being a distance from the exchange. Our service is suitable for basic web surfing and emails but not updates or streaming e.g. BBC iPlayer and YouTube.
Do I have to be a member to stay on a UK campsite?
Non-members are welcome to book and stay at many of the Club campsites, however there are some that are member-exclusive. This information is available on each individual campsite webpage. Members may bring friends or family too, as long as they stay for the same duration.
How long can you stay on a Club Campsite?
Yes, however, if you have multiple pitch types booked within the duration of your stay, it may not be possible for you to remain on the same pitch for your entire stay. During busy periods you will potentially need to move to the pitch(es) you originally booked.
Can I stay on Club campsites with a tent?
It�s likely that since the Directory was printed, the campsite has withdrawn from our network and so will not appear online. If you feel that there is still an error, please phone us on 01342 327 490.
Can I book different pitch types throughout a stay?

Are self-build conversions welcome?

Are trailer tents and folding campers welcome?
Boats aren�t designed to be used for accommodation on land and so, unfortunately, we don�t accept them on our campsites. The only exception to this is Wilderness Boats, which are small canal boats that are purposely designed for dual use on the land and in the water. Are roof top tents welcome?
New members can have online access as little as one hour after joining online. Your email confirmation containing your membership number usually arrives within 48 hours of joining online.
Are boats on trailers welcome?
You can include a joint member to your membership free of charge. Additional family members can be added for �10 each. Joint and family members must live at the same address as the lead member and be over 18 years old.
If I become a member online, how quickly will I be able to book UK Club campsites?
If you are the full member you can amend your membership details under My Profile. You can also amend your membership details, including amending joint or family members, by using Webchat or phoning our membership services line.
