The Recreation Department is jointly funded by the County of Upson and the City of Thomaston. We offer sports programs including fall & spring soccer, fall and spring softball, fall and spring baseball, tee ball, flag football, tackle football, cheerleading, basketball, track and adult church softball.
The Civic Center is the meeting place for the community, hosting numerous civic organizations such as Kiwanis, Woodman of the World, Retired Teachers, Humane Society, Hobby Club, AARP trainings and Checker Rose Quilt Guild. It is also a place for local residents to hold birthday parties, showers, classes, reunions, weddings, funerals and receptions.
