We’re a Gracie Jiu Jitsu academy located in Milton, GA – only a half hour north of Atlanta. Our academy teaches self-defense and sport Jiu Jitsu to practitioners of all ages and abilities in our family based atmosphere. Our head instructor, Professor Jamie Williams, has created a fun, safe, collaborative and social environment that welcomes everyone interested in training.
J3 is a member of The Pedro Sauer Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Association (PSBJJA) - one of the oldest, largest, and most respected associations in the world today and is partnered with Gracie University. We are proud to be one of the few certified academies for the Georgia Peace Officer Standards and Training Council. J3 is also member of the BJJ Globetrotters community.
Even though we pass several other schools on our way here, we wouldn't take our son anywhere else. Professor John is truly amazing with my 4-yr-old and the rest of the class. He knows how to keep the attention of kids at this age group and is also very talented with martial arts.
Jamie and Erica make the location feel very welcome and are helpful for any inquiries we bring up. The location has a great variety of times for all groups to help include everyone regardless of their busy schedule.
It won't be long until I join along-side my son so we can enjoy it together as a family!

My son, Oliver, has been attending Gracie Jiu Jitsu at Milton for three weeks now. We enrolled him because he was quite shy and struggled to speak up, so we felt a physical activity would help a four-year-old gain confidence. It turns out we were right.
The academy led by Jamie and Erica is excellent; they are always prompt and helpful with our inquiries. Beyond their professionalism, they have such good hearts—which is clearly shown through their history of leading mission trips. It is wonderful to be in an environment managed by people with such strong values.
In particular, I want to highlight his teacher, Professor John. He truly knows how to communicate with children. My son is only four years old, so maintaining his attention span can be a challenge, but Professor John is incredible at keeping him focused and "in check." He is remarkably patient and knows exactly when to reward my son for doing well.
Professor John has a great heart and a wonderful sense of humor. He is "brave" in his teaching style—he isn't afraid to lead with the firm, clear guidance that young boys need to build character. While teachers at other places might be hesitant to speak up, Professor John’s approach is exactly what young boys needs.
I highly recommend this school to any parent with a young child. If you want your child to be successful at building confidence and learning how to be a good human being, this is the place to be.

Dropped in for a class while out of town and had a great experience. Jamie, the owner, was a great host and everyone were friendly and great to train with. We had a small group and were heading back home, they do have a shower if you’re traveling or heading somewhere after training. Overall it was a great atmosphere and a solid training session—I’d definitely drop in again and would recommend the gym to anyone looking for a good place to train.

I have trained in martial arts at a few different schools over the years so I can confidently say that J3 is top notch. The instruction in both Jiu Jitsu and Thai Boxing is nuanced and focuses as much on the “why" as the “what" and “how". All techniques are deconstructed so that students learn concepts and strategies that can be applied in multiple scenarios, while drilling specific flows to promote retention and muscle memory. What truly stands out about J3 is the fact that the student body is deep and wide in terms of experience. This is not a gym with a single black belt presiding over a legion of whites and blues. Nor is it a competition only gym where recreation seeking players and lower belts might find it intimidating. The instructors are backed up by numerous brown, purple and blue belts that are equally generous with their knowledge. White belts get to watch and roll with people of all levels and get to see and feel first hand what is in store for them should they keep at it and rise in the ranks. The members all prop each other up to grow, through the grind and sweat, together for the betterment of each student and for the group collectively… much like a family would do. I am a proud J3 member, as are my children. We each train in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Muay Thai kickboxing and even have opportunities to share the mats during family oriented classes. As someone who loves the martials arts and spending active quality time with my family and other great people, I wholeheartedly recommend J3 for both individuals and families.

It was a priveledge to roll with sensei Jamie and his students.
This gym has an abundance of skill/technique matched by mutual respect and grace.
I do not live here, but if I did, I would be honored to attend on a regular basis.
It was a also a pleasure to participate in the family experience as well. It's rare to see children and adults in the same milleau, with safe & warm regards for age, size, gender and belt.
Thank you all!
