- DRDenise RJan 4, 20261.0Weird vibes, and microagressions unless you're an older white man or just a man. The white sales people are from a completely different season of life and it shows. Ive never been greeted nor asked if i needed help. Instead i've had to track someone down for help. Went in to have one cleat tighten on the cycle shoes that i purchased at this store this past summer. Went thru hell. The salesperson didnt believe me and asked me many unnessary questions. Just could have told me that he couldn't do it. All this over ONE cleat that took him less than 2 min to tighten! They are rude and dismissive and highly ignorant of anyone who doesn't fit their narrow demographic. I won't be back.

Instead of folding my clothes they were just thrown together the counter and pushed towards me; I get better courtesy at any other retail store but not here. At the other REI I got a box at this one nothing. I don't understand a store with this price point not extend simple courtesy to their customer. Maybe it's because spending this amount is no big deal but its a major deal for me. If my kids didn't have this camping trip and I had more time all this would be returned. Very unnecessary and unkind

Unfortunately, the man in the bike shop was unfriendly, never offering to adjust the bike to fit my height or describe any of the features or how they worked. He called an assistant manager or manager to check me out and this man hardly said a word to me, which was also disappointing. I will be back, but hopeful that the experience will be more positive the next time.
