Are you new to golf and not sure where to start? That was me 9 months ago—desperately searching for a beginner-friendly, group-based program. After checking out several courses around Orlando, Dubsdred stood out with their Operation 36 program. You start by playing from 25 yards from the center of the green and work your way back as you improve. The group lessons were a great mix of social and educational, with competent instructors who kept it beginner-friendly. The course itself is well-maintained and challenging, especially the greens, but it has a private course feel and a brand new driving range and outdoor bar/refreshment and food stand. As of now, the group lessons include five free green fees (cart not included), which is a great deal. When I started, I was worried about being a newbie, but Dubsdred has a welcoming atmosphere. They teach course etiquette, and with Operation 36, you can play from the 25-yard mark, which helps keep the pace moving without feeling like you’re holding anyone up. After scoring 36 from 25 yards during my casual play, I tried from 50 and 100 yards, and even played in the ladies’ league from the red tee box. The Operation 36 app made it easy to track progress, and it works at other courses too. However, the testing sessions to move up in levels felt too high-pressure for me. It would be great if there were other ways to pass, like logging 10 rounds under 36 or doing a skills test with a private instructor. I personally could do 36 most times during my usual play at 25 yards, but I somehow could NOT do it at the testing event x 3. It was frustrating, not just because I know I can do it, but also because I can’t access new learning materials for the next level from the app until I score 36 during a formal testing event. One last note: The event calendar sometimes changes, and there aren’t a lot of weekend test events, called “mini-events”. The times can be not amenable to 9 to 5 ers like me. But overall, I loved my time at Dubsdred. I’m moving soon, but I highly recommend it. Just make sure you’re mindful of course etiquette and time, and you’ll fit right in. It’s an awesome, welcoming atmosphere—truly a fantastic place to make your home course.

The driving range is killer here! Top Tracer tracking in every bay for no extra charge. Large bucket (90 balls) is $20. Each bay has extra seating and is covered.

Second time playing this course as I'm from Illinois. Every time I come to the Orlando area, I will be playing Dubsdread! I really enjoy this course and the staff is top notch. Pace of play can be a little slow but nothing to complain about. Got paired with a couple and another single and it was a great round. Greens are fast and the neighborhood is pretty cool. Again, I love this course!

Great gem of Orlando. Well worth the money to play. Front is a little rougher with how narrow it is, but the back you can spray it around a little more. Lots of water and bunkers, but hey, it's Florida golf. Also has an excellent club house with snack shack and the tap room restaurant next door if you want some food after play.
