- BLBrandt Labastille5 days ago1.02nd time visiting this store. 1st experience was good, but this time around, I was not greeted, and the cashier that checked me out at register, pretty much followed me around until he rang me at the register. He even stood in my way at one point, and I had to tell him to excuse himself. Sure enough, after I passed him he magically appeared at register, although he was going the opposite way. I've worked retail for over 20 years: The best deterrent to shoplifting is great customer service, not blatantly letting your black customers (new REI member) know that you are keeping an eye on them, will not greet them, will not ask if they are finding everything okay, will stand in their path and not move out of their way politely. Someone need to check that dude, and teach him some manners forst, then re-train him. My 1st Purchase was about $400, made on 12-17-25. Today's purchase was around 11:45am. Look it up!

Many of the bikes are hanging from the ceiling so truly a useless experience without an associate. I walked out frustrated after 15 mins.
