- BHBill Holloway3 days ago5.0DAN ZIMMER returns. 👎 Well friends, this gem of a course was finally brought back to life over the past year. After a much needed rest from the 65,000 rounds per year this course was cranking out, major renovations were completed. Reopened in late summer 2025, SJGCC had a new plan in mind. Let’s reduce the number of rounds and correct massive pace of play issues. What a great plan. As a somewhat regular player here, this was a welcomed change. No more 5.5 hours rounds on the weekends. It did come with a slightly higher greens fees. This is now a premium experience well worth the slight price increase. HOWEVER, it appears SJGCC is not satisfied. With a pending change in upper management, Troon is bringing back the heavy hitter. Yes, Dan Zimmer. While on track to reduce the round numbers to 40-45k per year (still a big body count), this plan appears to be going in the trash. Friends, we are going to be looking at a massive, FULL tee sheet on a daily basis. The “company man,” as I am told Zimmer is derisively called by members, appears to be ready to a drop the hammer. Is it possible that Zimmer is going to beat the 65,000 rounds of years past? Well, time will tell. Play this gem while it’s still in good condition along with about 4:15 pace of play.

They treat all of their patrons with the utmost respect from the time you pull up to the front and when you have finished your round. The new improvements are fantastic and have made a great course even better.
