The Munich Olympic Regatta Center is located six kilometers directly north of the Olympiapark (Olympic Park) and is embedded in 850,000 square meters of scenic nature. In 1972, rowers and canoeists competed for Olympic medals. These sports are also most dominant here in post-Olympic times Besides daily training there are national and international competitions every year. And in 2007 the World Rowing Championships brought a very special highlight to Oberschleißheim once again. Due to the downright fair competition conditions, the Olympic regatta course belongs to the most favored competition sites – even more than 40 years after the 1972 Summer Olympic Games.
Clubs for canoeists, rowers, and archers offer interesting leisure activities for their members. In contrast, everyone has access to the bathing and swimming area, which is approx. 500 m long and located directly in front of the grandstand. And volleyball players, inline skaters and cyclists can also enjoy themselves at the site of the Munich Olympic Regatta Center. In addition, many organizers of sports events appreciate the scenic center and conduct up to 20 sports events each year at the center.
