Very rude and unprofessional. We were placed on the waitlist and ended up waiting for nearly two hours. The frustrating part is that we checked in over an hour before the time we were told, yet somehow we were skipped entirely.
On top of that, one of the male bartenders was extremely inappropriate and made my wife uncomfortable with behavior that came across as sexually harassing. That alone is unacceptable.
Between the disorganized waitlist and the staff’s behavior, this was a terrible experience. I would strongly recommend avoiding this establishment.
Dear Diary, today we stumbled upon a gem. A place with nostalgia yet trendy. Good service, good vibes, and worth coming back for. It’s rare to see these old school gems still firing on all cylinders but it was a breath of fresh air. The dining part could use a little more love but that’s not their main focus which is fine. Outdoor yard games, great bar and bowling was all on point.

Me and some buddies went here for some drinks and a long game of bowling. Apparently this is not a place for long game of bowling because we were told to keep our cigarette breaks to a minimum. It's overly crowded unwelcoming environment. the only nice thing I can say is the bartenders where at least decent. And make a semi-good drink. Definitely would not waste any money here. There are way better bowling alleys with way more friendlier people and environments.

I have been debating whether or not to leave this review, however, I was so jaw dropped and appalled at one of the employees behavior, I had to leave a review.
I am an avid bowler, a league level bowler and I've been bowling at Wheat Ridge Lanes since I moved to Denver in 2019. I love the alley and have had nothing but great experiences here.. until Friday, 2/6/26. I will not even think about coming back without a reply from the owner.
I arrived at the bowling alley with three of my league friends and we were quietly enjoying our lane/game. We were on the 10th frame of our first game. The lane completely reset, the screen changed to our next bowler and I assure you, the lane was completely reset. My friend bowled his first shot on the 10th frame and as the ball came down the lane, the gate randomly came down. His ball hit the gate.
I then, went up to the front desk and was letting the team know what happened and seeing if we could reset the lane. The associate was completely unprofessional and said, "YOU CANNOT DO THAT, YOU MUST HAVE HIT THE RESET LANE BUTTON, THIS IS YOUR FAULT. IF YOU BREAK THE EQUIPMENT, YOU'RE RESPONSIBLE FOR $43K+ OF DAMAGE" I was somewhat in shock, as this was 100% an equipment malfunction and not our bowlers fault. The lane reset and we waited a good 30 seconds before throwing the ball. Anyways, the employee told us we're liable, we then tried to explain that we were just trying to be responsible and ensure the team knew about the problem. After trying to calmly explain this to the associate, they then freaked out, screamed and kicked us out. Again, I'm an avid, league level bowler. I was watching the lane and it completely reset before my friend threw his ball. This was an equipment malfunction. We were then threatened liability over your equipment malfunctioning, the employee was shaking, unprofessional, threatening and kicked us out for zero reason.
I just want the owner to know this, as this was completely unacceptable.
The employees name, I cannot remember. However, one of our friends asked his name and all I recall is that it was something along the lines of "Gabriel Vasquez Garcia". That was not the name at all, however it had that ring to it. He was a tall, Hispanic male, glasses and likely in his 20s-30s.
He should be fired as he's completely unprofessional and if provoked (or gently asked questions), he is a risk to the company and your customers.
My first visit to WRL. I was prepared for the bar/cafe vibe as many other reviewers noted. Was told the burgers are worth the visit. Did I miss something? Their menu offered only one burger, a ½ lb. monster, obviously a teenagers portion! And the price matched at over $16! Ok. I bit. Show me the beef. FYI, there is nothing on the menu under $11, unless you want soup. Seemed a little high for a neighbourhood diner.
Our table ordered shortly after opening at 2pm. Our server touted that the burgers would be made from wagyu beef. Lovely. Minutes later, “I’m sorry, we didn’t get the the Wagyu (but you’ll pay the same).” The first orders for the kitchen took almost 30 minutes to present to our table. I began to question, 30-minutes for a burger? OK. I don’t mind waiting for good food. Everyone ordered medium rare. Mine arrived cooked more than well. When three burgers are grilled at the same time, how is one so over-cooked? My wife over-ruled my sending it back.
I understand. Kitchens get over-run when busy. Every good cook knows how a burger is cooked by feel. Apparently mine wasn’t.
We’ll try again another day.
