I wish I would have gotten the guys name but I bought a bike yesterday and the whole process took under 30 minutes (ideal for me but I’m sure they would spend more time with you if that’s what you wanted!). He was incredibly friendly as was the gal who made sure the bike was tuned up. It felt so good biking to work this morning! 100% recommend for bike purchases.

If I’m paying for a membership my expectations are higher than other big box outdoor stores. No reason to have me sitting in line for 15 minutes while another customer handles a return. 20 employees but no one is trained on register? Or is corporate leadership prioritizing merchandising and inventory over member services? When I have to pay money just to give even more money to a business, there are 0 areas for mismanagement.

I don't like REI very much. Way over priced stuff. The first thing I looked at was a pair of socks that did not look very special, $25; then the next pair I looked at were $32.95. then men's and women's stuff mixed up in the same section made it difficult to look for what I might want. I gave up and left after a short walk around.

REI is an example of the best kind of retail experience a consumer can have. The store is clean and gear is easy to find. Look for Simone when visiting, she is extremely knowledgeable and guided me through buying a hydration backpack, ultimately saving me around ~$50.
