  I love REI and have been a faithful customer for 20 years both online and at our local store. I was so excited to come to the flagship store in Denver and I was SO disappointed. The employees were incredibly rude and acted like the customers were a burden. I’ll still visit my local store but I was hoping for more from the flagship store.

  Great place to see and try gear. Attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly staff. Feels like an adventure just being there! Many "big" brands, and quality "in-house" gear offered at fair and often discounted pricing. Great outdoors area by the river in downtown.

  Sadly, every experience I have ever had at R.E.I. has been terrible. Tried to exchange a $10 gift from a hiking friend today. After having to pay for parking because it took longer than 60 minutes, waiting in line to make the return only to be quizzed on who gave me the gift to look up their information because I did not have a receipt (the box has their price label). Then they said she didn't purchase it. I thought it may have been purchased under partner's name but not sure they share the same last name...clock still ticking........ didn't matter that I just wanted a larger product because this one didn't fit. For real, it would have been helpful and saved me a ton of time if you would have had something at the beginning of the return line on what you need to return an item. I would have never made the effort for a $10 item. Department of Motor Vehicles has better customer service than you do! Shame on you R.E.I. I will be sharing this information on the trails.

  Spent about $1,500 in one transaction, the staff had everything scanned but when I exit through the gate, the alarm still went off. I gave them the receipt and merchandise to check, while running back to my car to get parking ticket for validation, nothing was found i think. I was in a hurry, grab the stuff and left with confusion. Was there anything found unscanned in any of the backpacks?

  While REI was working on my bike, there was a freak accident that caused some damage. The bike shop was fantastic, they were forthright & honest about what happened, proactive about taking care of it, and even leant me a pair of wheels while they got the replacement wheels in. I’ve always enjoyed great service and have never had an issue. Now I have had an “issue” and it was a total non-issue because of how well the bike shop handled it. My gratitude, guys!
