I have been looking forward to a stay here for a while now, I was so excited to finally get to. Check in was fine. We reserved a spot at the Timberline grill and the food was good. However there was a limited menu with king crab for a lot of items and they were out of king crab. I was a little disappointed about that but the steak was still delicious. The service was fine. Played some slots for a bit and the waitress was rather unfriendly with her body language demanding a tip that we were going to give anyway. No smile, no thank you. Finally ascended to our delux king bed and it looked so inviting. The room was pretty nice and it was clean. The bed was hard as a rock! Could not sleep comfortably. Nice pillows and the hardest mattress I’ve ever slept on. Went to check out and grab a Starbucks before we hit the road. Was stopped by the lady at the top of the stairs that lead to the casino and Starbucks. She stopped us saying our bags were too big and she had to look in them. We were unaware of their rules about bringing your luggage to the casino since we have been to many resorts where you sometimes have to walk through the casino to get to your car. She wasn’t friendly to us, she treated us like we were trying to get away with something and when we turned around to hop in the elevator to go to the parking lot, she called for back up! All we wanted to do was grab a coffee for the road. I even asked if I could leave our things with her while we got a coffee. If she could have just been friendly and more customer service like then I wouldn’t have felt like a criminal upon leaving. It’s a nice place but unfortunately this experience for us will never have us come here again. The lady at the top of the stairs did it for us and I don’t like sleeping on bricks.

I came to this hotel for a Sport Karate Final round Championship, Coming in to Valet first, was great, friendly, polite and super easy, Check in was fantastic, pulled everything up with ease, confirmed all my reservations and had me a key and ready to go to my room in less than 5 min! Elevators..different story, there was always a line to get into the elevator to get UP to the rooms when there are 5 elevators, going down was always fine, On to the restaurants! We tried the ramen place first, amazing food! Great service, felt like a 5 start restaurant experience! Price was reasonable for 2 Fireside kitchen, first off service right off the bat was not great, took 10 min to get seated then, once seated about 10 before someone even came over to greet us, so we decided let’s just put our whole order in at once, we got our appetizer before our water, I had to ask for my waters, shortly after food came out on a robot… and some other girl who was not our waitress took it off the robot and gave us the food.. NOW! The FOOD 11 out of 10!! Would go back for the food, not the service! The Event went smooth! Beautiful hall! Casino as expected! Lots of slot machines, and tables for poker! All the prices for everything was very reasonable! Booked a Spa Massage for my wife while I worked, she said her experience was Great! From the front desk staff, to the amenities, the over all experience including the massage was great! Would recommend! (Her words not mine!) lol Great weekend getaway!

I've always had ok experiences at Ameristar but this was not one of them. We brought kids for a karate tournament, and I wouldn't by any stretch say that the hotel was kid friendly. The hotel restaurant was understaffed, I had to go find our server multiple times. Both times we ate at fireside, it took 45 minutes to an hour from when we sat down, before we saw our drinks. One time we waited an hour for a drink that we were later told they didn't have. Starbucks was a mess, unable to accommodate the number of people. The food options at this hotel, especially for kids, were not adequate... They encouraged us to order and pick up food to eat in our rooms at a discount... But we didn't do that because the pick up order times were long and there's no where to eat or throw food trash away in the room. The worst part of the whole weekend was the elevators though. I don't know what's going on there but we waited upwards of 30 minutes for an elevator, at times giving up and climbing flights of stairs. We hear them going right by and not stopping. I did have mostly positive experiences with the front desk though, as long as my kids weren't with me. If my kids were with me, they would police what they were doing, for example my 9 year old was holding karate props in full karate dress on the way to the tournament and they basically escorted us out, it was not kindly letting us know what the hotel preferences were - it was a scolding like we were breaking rules.

I would say everything was pretty nice! The rooms are a little older style but still clean. The casino had a lot of machines plenty to play. Most of the staff were very friendly. My only complaints; One, the elevators took FOREVER even though there were five of them people were having to wait in line for at least 5-10min. Two, at the fireside kitchen the waitress and staff were not very friendly nor attentive. We got our appetizer before our waters! Which sucks because the food was fantastic no complaints there. Three, all the restaurants close at 10pm I feel like that’s so early especially with having a 24 hour bar. We did eat at the ramen restaurant as well which was so good! And the staff and wait staff were very attentive and nice! I also had a massage at the spa which I highly recommend! The staff were fantastic! They welcomed me with a mimosa. In the spa they have jacuzzi, steam room, sauna, relaxation room with and snacks, tea, as well as infuses water. Prices for everything is reasonable exactly what you would expect for this kind of hotel. Overall I would stay again! Great for a quick weekend trip.

My wife and I our daughter and her friend got stuck in an elavater for an hour or so.we pushed the button for help and didn't get a responce.ofter some time my daughter called the front desk to say we have been stuck in this elavater and needed help.no one came to check on us at all.eventuly someone came over the little intercoms and said the fire department was on there way.the fire department was great they put some cool air in the elavater why they worked on getting us out because it was extremely hot.my daughter was freaking out and so was my wife.after all that when we finally got out a staff member starting bitching at us for having beer with us we were taking to our room.she was very rude and didn't even ask us if we were OK.come to find out she was the night manager.we eventually got to the front desk as we walked away from the rude chick yelling at us.was not in any mood to be disrespected after being stuck in an elevator wondering if when and how we were going to get out.anyway we got to the front desk and some lady came out pretending to be the night manager and told us that they had to do paper work talk to security and to come back in the morning and talk to the morning manager see what was going to be done.so we did.we went in the morning and talked to the morning manager who new nothing about the incident from the night befor.we then proceeded to talk to security who wanted our statements of what happend to us.then the manager said she would give us each a 25 dollar voucher to our rooms for a dinner as compensation for our troubles.not work it be any means.wr decided to go eat and that was as much as a fiasco as the night befor.our rooms had been closed and the 25 dollars vouchers were not in the system.that took another hour or so just to get that all figured out.and to find out the rude chicken the night befor was the night manager and had some employee talk to us in her place so she didn't have to deal with it.the whole experience was a miserable joke and a total wast of our time and money.this is how they treat guests.there are many places up here that we had a great experience and will definitely come to again.ameristar is not one, my faimly and I will never stay here again and after hearing about our experience and treatment after this elavater situation that was in no how our fault and how we were treated afterwords many if our friends and faimly won't be staying here ever again either.years ago this was a great place to stay would not recommend it to anyone now.there are many other places to stay up here that care about their customers and show them respect and appreciation for the buisness they bring
