Because I paid cash and lost the receipt, REI refused everything — no return, no exchange, no store credit. This isn’t customer service; it’s punishing honest customers while hiding behind policy. Strongly do not recommend buying anything from REI. If something goes wrong, you will get zero help.

The store was packed for Christmas Eve and he was clearly holding things together, but still stepped in to help us with a snowboard boot fitting when no one else could. He knew his stuff, was easy to talk to, and helped us find a solid pair without rushing us. Really appreciated his help during such a crazy day.
