The staff is very attentive, knowledgeable, and helpful. One of them encouraged me to buy Oboz Sawtooth boots even though they were a bit pricy, but that turned out to be a great decision. Best hiking boots I've had - very durable. The fitting rooms are nice and clean - I do sometimes see difference in price on stuff such as hiking pants between the store and online, in which case the store proves great for sizing and fit-check, then I can order on the REI website.

He came to offer assistance, and took the time not only to help me find the right tent for me, but to come back and actually help me set it up to practice and to show me how easy it was to do so. I really valued and appreciated his personalized service. I shared with him that I was just at the Huntington Beach (HB) REI, hanged around for almost an hour hoping to get help with the tents and I was never acknowledged. I walked out. A manager like Wendell is what will keep customers coming back. Angel was great too and very personable; she came to offer her assistance, I didn't even need to ask. HB should learn from the customer service level rendered at the Tustin location! Thank you Wendell and Angel!! I really appreciated the service and know I will have an amazing, well prepared backpacking trip!
