Man with name that starts with X was unhelpful. Tried to tell us the product we were asking about didn't have a feature we knew it did. We needed a looser fit but he suggested that they are all the same (different brands and different sizes all fit the same...really?) In other words, he was impatient, incorrect, and perhaps having a bad day or perhaps should not be in customer service. The lady we interacted with the day prior was very helpful and we had come back to make the purchase when we met X.

I recently started skiing after a 20 year break, and an ankle fusion. True North is fantastic, and the employees have been very welcoming and helpful. I had previously been in to the shop for random items I had forgotten. The selection is amazing! It is obviously more expensive at the mountain, that is my fault for forgetting my gear. Staff was very helpful in helping me select a usable set of cheap Leki poles when I had forgotten mine and a second set of Hestras. I appreciate staff taking the time to identify the need/want, and offering several options at different price points.
Today I had the pleasure of working with Mac on a new set of boots I'd bought. Mac was very helpful and asked several questions to determine my ability, knowledge and expectations from my gear. Mac was very helpful with selecting inserts and molding my liners. The care taken with my surgical hardware, that is painful was amazing. Mac was awesome bringing me up to speed on what the current gear does and where on the mountain. I also discovered that several Veterans are employed there, thank you! I will be getting all of my tech work done at True North, you are wizards! Much appreciated, and thank you for getting me back over my skis.

Took my board here to be tuned. They scuffed the top sheet and screwed up the base worse than when I dropped it off. It took over night and $75 to fubar my board. Don't go here.

If you want to a very poor customer service, steep price, mediocre ski/board tuning job, then go to True North. Otherwise, go to Burton, Showcase, or other places off the Village of Northstar.
True North is also very unacommodating for Northstar Teams athletes, which we've been a part of since 2019. Team kids start going up to the mountain at 8:15am but the store is not open until 8:30am. My son came at 8:15am to pick up the board from the rack, only to be rudely turned away by their rude employee named Xavier. The boards were already on the rack, the door was open, and he didn't even need any assistance from the employee, since everything has been paid for, and there's no checkout process involved. My son ended up waiting and being late to their training.
Now on to the tune itself, the edges were not as sharp, and the wax was mediocre. If you want a solid shop work, go to Totally Board or Start Haus.
Overall, a very poor experience. Never coming back.
