The owner, Jim, is one of the finest teachers I've met, and is as good at enthusiastically redirecting high energy chatterboxes as he is at coaxing quiet, apprehensive kids out of their shells. He also provides opportunities for interested advanced kids to learn to be assistant coaches and employs/hosts other excellent teachers as well. Classes in fencing, archery, HEMA, and more are offered for a wide variety of ages (7+). The space is big and open with lots of sturdy, carefully designed practice weapons and safety equipment to borrow during class; no need to purchase your own until you choose to. EGF is also active in the community, present at local events, marching in parades, and running summer camps throughout the area.
- TWT WJan 13, 20255.0the community here is really welcoming and friendly. there are classes for people at any skill level, they're very inclusive and you can tell they work tirelessly to provide a good experience. they also provide loaner gear for HEMA while you wait to get your own so that's really cool, especially for me who is a novice.

Very inclusive, well taught, and safe club for swinging swords at each other. Jim is just about the hardest working small business owner I've ever met, and it shows in how smoothly everything is run and in all the extra seminars, activities, and other events that are going on constantly around the club.
