  The staff here are extremely knowledgeable and helpful. They took the time to make sure we had the backup that was perfect for my son's size and build, as well as the most suitable tent and other equipment. Kevin was an excellent sales associate. Other sporting and outdoors goods stores may be cheaper, but they can't match the full service, variety of inventory, knowledge and helpful staff of REI.

  When you come in, they push for you to be a member. Handed me two fliers that I just put on their furniture. When you purchase, it's the same thing. I made a purchase in-store, and the sales associate asked me 3 TIMES if I want to be a member. I said no all three times. "Are you sure?" YES I'm sure! "I just want to make my purchase." Even when he handed me the receipt he asked if I'm sure. It's very aggressive and in poor taste. Forced and contrived, like he was about to twist my arm. It's very uncomfortable. NO IS A COMPLETE SENTENCE. They do not understand what NO means. Terrible training on management.

  They don't respect REI's online return policy despite already having spoken to customer support and receiving written confirmation prior to visiting the store. I won't be going back to this location.

  I have to come on here to leave a glowing review for Spencer in the hiking shoes department specifically. Such a kind and caring gentleman that you can tell truly helps people with hiking shoes because he loves it. He knows so much and truly was so kind, helpful and genuine. I don’t have a lot of money so buying a fancy pair of hiking shoes was a big deal for me and him going out of his way to not only make me feel comfortable but helping me find exactly what works best for me. This was a big purchase and leaving knowing I made the right choice on top of knowledge to tie them better and know how to wear the best is huge. All my love and support to Spencer, this store is lucky to have him.

  My girlfriend really wants this specific shoe that is very hard to find. We called to ask if they have availability, and we were told to check online. What was the purpose of answering the phone call? You cannot simply check if that item is in stock? We live all the way in Orange County so if we make the trip and we are wrong, we’re screwed. Do your job and stop being lazy.
