This location is a great place , they need and employee upgrade because these ladies are mean and treat you like a pile of dirt ,Maybe they are forgetting we pay for a service that they are not providing ,treating us like dirt is not in the contract i signed and does not happen at other 1000 trails . since the change of rules here by someone who knows nothing of running a park obliviously everything has went downhill. Now they went cashless you can no longer use USA currency at the pio pico campground whats next will you force us to stay insie at certain times. I read a previous review calling this place pio pico prison that is spot on the ladies treat this like boot camp and they are in-charge .You are not allowed to relax or have fun or they will penalize or retaliate and lie on you be carfull

"We stayed here for 9 months while searching for our forever home, and it was the best decision we made. From the very first day, the staff treated us like family. It didn't just feel like a place to park—it truly felt like home. We are going to miss everyone so much. Thank you for everything!"

We want to start of by saying we have stayed here at least a dozen times now, and as of late it seems to have been a little more comfortable. But I do not want to speak to soon. Normally the woman workers harass the hell out of us making our stay so stressed that we hate it. They always knit pick and harass you for any minor issue or they may make things up. They also do not enforce rules equally. Our family comes here to camp, getaway and have a good time. Not to be scolded by the ladies that work here because they are so miserable that they take it out on everyone else.I say ladies because the few men that we have ran into have been so respectful and pleasant to us it's almost as if we are in a whole different RV park! I noticed they do not like ppl golf color ,ppl with kids ,ppl with animals ,or ppl. Our last stay felt a tad more laid back for some reason. The lady that rides around on the golf cart just to pick on people and write them up everyday for no reason was not making her rounds 3 times a day, their were no new rules made up our whole stay ( shocker) we actually had a decent time . Who is to say it's going to stay like that or go back to they're old harassing ways. I guess time will tell.

I love how this campground is spacious. There are many sights but each sight has plenty of room. Loved how we could open up our back patio in a field and still felt very spaced out. People are friendly and the location is perfect as it is out in the boonies but still close enough to San Diego in minutes. So quiet and peaceful. The scenery is amazing.

Stayed there a few weeks ago. As full time rv'rs I try not to let one part of a park dictate my review but the pet policy there needs updating. We went to dog park one day and a couple was in there with two dogs. We always ask if dogs are friendly before entering (we could tell they were) and they said yes. Then the nice lady said, "oh look. Here comes a couple more dogs" . We look behind us to see a pit bull and husky, hooked together on a tandem leash, WITH NO OWNER ATTACHED, barreling towards us in full attack mode. As we are trying to fend them off( mainly the pit bull), a woman could be seen coming around corner screaming a beeping/shocking the dogs trying get them under control. Our only escape was to dive into the dog park and close the gate. Why are aggressive breeds even aloud in these parks? Another issue involve a person with two aggressive dogs (clearly by the way they were trying to chew through the fence to get to my dogs) camping out in the dog park with his beers and chair. It's not your personal dog park, it's for EVERYONE. If your dogs are aggressive, let them do their business, run for a few minutes and get out. Otherwise, campground was a typical Thousand Trails " Preserve". ( not sure if that's a good thing anymore). Too many long term stays using these parks as there homes except not treating them like they were their homes. 25 year old dilapidated trailers and crap all over their sites. Location is the main benefit of this place.
