I had such a great experience at REI thanks to Joey!
I’m preparing for my first backpacking trip and honestly didn’t know where to start when it came to finding the right backpack. Joey made the entire experience feel easy and exciting instead of overwhelming. He took the time to properly fit me, encouraged me to try on multiple options, and never rushed the process, which I really appreciated as a first-timer.
What stood out most was how informative and thoughtful he was. He walked me through packing tips, how to properly strap everything in, and shared practical advice that made me feel so much more confident going into my trip.
On top of that, he was incredibly kind, patient, and genuinely friendly the whole time. Employees like Joey truly make a difference, he’s the reason I would come back to REI and recommend it to others.

But Seat a bit to high
They suppose to fixed it
I was told last Sunday 03/29/26, around 4:45-5:45 pm bike was picked up.
A worker named Julius told me to come back and they will adjust the seat. My wife got excited but today 04-03-26 I went and told the REI shop
About the seat. Response
No can’t do because this and that. The lady that spoke to me seemed in a rush and plain and simple said, talk to the manager.
I get if they not sure if cut the seat tube is safe, but honestly, she didn’t even try.
Not sure if is my skin color? Also I noticed a band that holds the brake cables is loose.
Now I will myself check out if they “technicians” assembled the bike properly.
I’ll avoid that place at all costs.
Not worth my time and money.
No more business for them.
Worst place to request a service for a bike they sold.
As of today, I went back to my workplace and I cut the Seat Tube myself, 5 minutes or less,
The lady that told me this and that, guess what, I work as a Tool Room Machinists,
And I know about Markings on the Seat Post. The seat Post has around 3 inches long after the Markings. Pretty sure she can cut the 1.5 inches I requested since my wife wanted the seat able to be a bit lower.
She ain’t no technician.
I just didn’t wanted to do myself since is part of the sales person to get the Customer Satisfied.

As the author of The Most Crucial Knots to Know and The Motivated Amateur’s Guide to Winter Camping, I pay close attention to real-world outdoor gear, and REI is a strong location in Huntington Beach, California.
The store has an excellent selection of backpacks, with small, medium, and large options that cover just about every type of trip or user. It’s easy to compare fits and features across different models.
There’s also a nice camping display with tents set up, which helps visualize real-world use, and the sleeping bag selection is especially solid with a range of options for different conditions.
The staff has been very friendly and helpful, making it easy to get guidance and find the right gear.
Overall it’s a well-stocked REI with a good layout, strong inventory, and a helpful team.

had trouble finding help to get my shoes. i was literally told "vivobarefoot shoes are popular but they are not good" ended up getting xero pair but not what i wanted. not a great place. i can't believe i signed up to their membership. have to find a way to cancel it now, the 1 year return thing is kind of a gimmick who needs 1 year to return somethjing? lol it's terrible. the membership is a joke $30 is nothing, but i dont want to be spammed by a place that i never actually go to. 1 year return policy is a complete joke, nobody is going to take a year to figure out they need to return something. now i have to go an cancel this nonsense membership. i will have my guard up next time i go to this location. i dont even think they mentioned it was $30, but what a waste of time calling them to cancel this silly membership so they wont mail me. pay them 30 dollars for a return service you really statistically will never use and let them mail you ads so you can return.
Jonah and Cecilia are the best! Cecilia really took the time to educate me on backpack fits and was super fun and made me comfortable. Jonah was really patient and kind with amazing customers service at the register. The gentleman that works in the shoe department with glasses and black hair also went above and beyond to help me with shoe fit/socks. I really really appreciate this location and the people that work here 💗 grateful for your team, thank you!
