We have enjoyed the quality clothing and recreational items that hold up well and provide lots of enjoyment. Today I took the REI member reward to make a purchase. After checking my id that I am not the named member on the membership(same last name, different first), he informed me the benefit only accrues to the named member. I can purchase items using the account but must bring my husband if i wish to use the annual benefit. I responded that you want me to start another membership in order to use the benefit? The clerk had no answer. Until today we believed we had a joint account. No one has ever asked me if I wanted to start another individual membership. There are other stores that carry quality merchandise and from now on that’s where I will shop.
