  We met Kennedy as we were checking out. Kennedy was welcoming, open, very knowledgeable, gave excellent local hiking suggestions, and left us with a really positive feeling for the remainder of the day. Thanks so much for fostering such a kind person!

  As a thriller author, polar explorer, and author of The Motivated Amateur’s Guide to Winter Camping and The Most Crucial Knots to Know, I always pay close attention to outdoor gear quality, and REI is an excellent location. This is a large REI with an open, well-designed layout that makes it easy to browse and explore different gear sections without feeling crowded. The selection is strong across categories, with a wide range of outdoor equipment for camping, hiking, and general adventure use. It’s a great place to compare gear and get a feel for what works best. The staff has always been super helpful and knowledgeable, which makes a big difference when you’re making decisions about equipment that needs to perform in real conditions. The inland location is easy to access and convenient, with plenty of space and a relaxed shopping experience. Overall it’s a well-run REI with a great selection and a professional team. Definitely worth a visit, and I would come back again.

  We recently had a disappointing experience with this REI bike shop. The bike repair itself was done well, and the pricing was reasonable, which we appreciated. When we brought the bike in for repair, the staff asked us to leave the charging cable for the electronic gear shifting system. However, when my husband picked up the bike, the cable was not returned. After we contacted the store, they offered to deliver the cable to our home. They later claimed the item was delivered on Monday night around 10. However, we never received it. We have checked with our neighbors and even posted in our community group, but no one has seen it. When we followed up with the store, we were told they don’t know what happened and no solution was offered. This situation is frustrating because now we ended up spending another $70 to purchase a replacement. We have generally had positive experiences with REI, but not this time

  I love going in here but then I'm like super disappointed... It's kind of hit or miss with the service and the quality of the products .. if Trader Joe's staff manned the store I think it would be perfect lol...
