  I visited rei with my boyfriend and now just read the reviews about people saying they had similar experiences. We got asked twice if we needed help even though we already declined politely the first time. We felt very pressured and watched the entire time. It starts making you feel like you’re being targeted or discriminated especially since my boyfriend is dark skinned. Any customer service should know if you get a no the first time you shouldn’t ask again and constantly watch us. That is just gonna make the customers want to leave.

  Not good customer care! Nobody’s paying attention even when we were no more than 4 people a 0 associate hard to find them and one of them trying to escape instead of help. I wouldn’t recommend that store.

  Before walking into this place we called and asked if they had a specific size of inner tubes. The guy on the phone said they did and we drove over there. By the way he also told us they were $9 each. Walked in with my 14 year old and his friend. I left them at the bike department and decided to walk around the store. The whole time I was walking around the employees kept following me around, approaching me to see if I needed anything. Maybe because I'm dark skinned? I thought that was really odd. I went to go check on the kids. The guy that was working the parts department had a crap attitude from the get go. He proceeded to give them a 20x 4.5-5" that was $24 dollars and not $9. I told him that was the wrong size and he said it should work with an attitude. We asked for the correct size and a guy brought one from the back somewhere it wasn't ringing up as anything. The guy from the parts department said that one is $18. A lady wearing glasses was telling my kids that they didn't have the $9 dollar one. We were simply asking where are the ones the guy on the phone told us about. With an attitude shes like we dont have those! In all honesty if we were white they probably be treating us better. The lack of professionalism here at REI is beyond me! I'm telling all my friends and family to stay clear from this place. Where it obvious they racial profile people. Based on previous reviews of people of color! They have the same concern at this store RACIAL PROFILING is alive and well @ REI CARLSBAD!
