I was looking for fly-fishing and spin cast fishing lures for salmon fishing on the Milwaukee River. The staff was very helpful in getting me the right lures.

Only one person. One! Working the gun counter on a Saturday. Had to buy an expensive Leupold scope so I got in the queue. Waited an hour and only went from #10 in line to #8. But two employees were wandering around with clipboards like door to door salesmen asking you to sign up for the Cabela's credit card while you wait. I asked one for help and he advised me to save time by ordering it online for in store pickup. I left and went to Fleet Farm where I walked up, was greeted by one of the three employees working the gun counter, pointed out the scope I wanted, inspected the demo, paid, and left.
Cabela's is ruined.

Where do I even start. Their clearance section is slimmed down to a handful of racks, used to be a dedicated room. They no longer have their restaurant or fudge shop, their animatronic camper guy by the analog no longer work and the token machine is out of order. Not what it used to be. I give it 5 years before they close

Stopped in the Richfield, WI store today, looking for a scope for a crossbow.
The archery person was working on a bow repair in back room. We asked another staff person if there was someone else that could assist us. We were told no and that "he would be done in about 30 minutes so hold tight". So we waited.
45 minutes later, we decided to leave the store.
We would stop and talk with the customer service department. There were 4 people already in line and one customer was not very happy. :(
A nice perk to allow merchandise to be worked on as you wait. But to have no one available to help other customers? Not a good plan.
Don't know if I'll go back.
