“Shorts season is here” is what the sign outside reads…don’t be fooled! If you are looking for 9”, 10”, and MAYBE (if you are lucky) 11” seam shorts then this is it. But the shorts are for people who don’t pick up a tool daily, someone who sits behind the desk, or your younger guy who likes to show off the thigh (he’s young & new…he will learn, the elders will teach him). And how can you not have black shorts or pants? They have 2 brands for shorts - Ariat and Carhartt. Even the young lady sitting behind the desk said it’s more about the fashion. Give me a break. I am actually appalled at the summer selection.
This store was excellent years ago, with a variety of brands, styles, and colors that people in the working field actually need to wear in order to be comfortable & functional at work. Now, it is majority Carhartt- don’t get me wrong, great brand but not everyone wants or can afford Carhartt- with other big brands sprinkled within. I use to be able to go in, get clothes that were functional, not necessarily fashionable, and if they didn’t have the size or color - they went out of their way to order it. Are there new owners? Is someone else doing the buying/inventory?
I found 1 pair of shorts in clearance that were functional, but waaaaaay too big. I asked if they were discontinued or if we could look to see if we can order them in the size I was looking for. I was told they couldn’t order them, didn’t even look it up on the computer. Okay, that’s fine - but I did look online, the company is still in business and I was also able to find them on Amazon. My family would rather give small businesses money, but I guess this place isn’t it.
By all means…owners, sales people, gift givers of top brand names to people who don’t need the functionality and Carthartt loving fashionistas - this is your place. So, where do the men and women who work in the field buy their workwear??

The owner is short and is not personable. They do not sell any Jaguar cut resistant gloves, nor do they sell any of the JagTouch gloves.

Sam's customer service is awesome! This was my 1st purchase but I felt like I was Midwest Workwear's best customer. It's truly a privilege and a pleasure to deal with an old-school family owned business.
