  Terrible customer service! Spent over 2 hours today to buy a gun and the employees were the worst I’ve ever encountered at this store. They were mean to my 3 year old child who just wanted a toy plane and wouldn’t allow my dad and I to check out together and tried to send us to the back of the line because we “weren’t together” that line had 20+ people when we were already at the front to begin with! We left the toy and walked out as the employee was LAUGHING AT MY CHILD CRYING BECAUSE HE COULDNT GET HIS TOY!! WE WILL BE GOING TO CORPORATE!

  So, this place is huge, and carries a lot of stock in all things related to sporting goods. The thing I hate, every time I go in there, is that I sell them get any customer service or associate willing to actually help. They are pulled in several directions, or conveniently ignore my presence. I'm sure many people love them, I just don't count myself amongst them. I will certainly shop there - kind of like a field trip, but don't know if I've ever made a purchase there. In fact, I even struggled to figure out their checkout system.

  Purchased a treadmill at the end of December and had it delivered and set up by Scheels. Began having issues with it near the end of January where the treadmill would reset in the middle of being used, called in Early February, after it happened several times, to have someone come out and look at it in Mid-February. Thought it might be a loose wire and they fixed it. Several days later, it was happening again. Called on the 25th of February and was told the repair person was out until the following week and I would get a call back at the beginning of next week when he returned. Called again on Wednesday, March 4th and was told he was in and I would get a call by the end of the day. Called again, yesterday Monday, March 9th, and was ensured I would receive a call when the repair guy was off the other line, after I verified my phone number and went over the whole issue (including the 2 previous calls and assurances of return calls) again. We just want our treadmill to work properly, and this company doesn't seem to want to make good on the services they promised with the sale.

  I was in Scheels in Appleton on 3/1/2026 looking for a pair of Hiking boots. I was greeted by a young man named James Lagrow asking if I needed help. I was amazed by this young lads personality his Knowledge of the shoes he was selling. I recently had ankle replacement so Finding shoes much less hiking boots is difficult because I can't bend my foot. James Lagrow made me feel like i wasn't being a Burden on him with all the boots I tried on. Thanks to James I was able to find a great pair of Hiking Boots so Thank You. If there were more young men in this world like James Lagrow the world would be a better place . Scheels you got a Great Employee you should be happy to have him. Thanks Again James I'll shop Scheels Again just because of him.

  Sold a firearm and they low balled me which was tipical and I asked how much they would give with the scope that I had off to the side and the Guy said they wouldn't offer any more so I told them to keep the scope off to the side because the scope was over $150 and If I wasn't getting payed extra its not worth selling. So after the deal was done I went home and low and be hold the guy took the scope because it wasn't in the case. I call and they give the all sales are final and they cant do anything pitch. They need professionals working there and nit kids out of Highschool working in the Firearms section.
